In other news, gotta love it.. CHA Champion Alabama-Huntsville with a 12-17 record in the NCAA. Now let's do something with that! If only the Huskies (16-16-2), had taken care of some business.. we'd least be in our own league playoffs.

What an atrocity! Disband the CHA nxt yr...

So the Gahden 4 are all set.

Maine

Food for thought... we beat each of these teams in the regular season, but failed to win one HE season series from any of them. Of course we belong on the outside looking in! These things have a way of sorting themselves out..

Coaches & players watch the tourney.. enjoy the NCAA.. have a great Spring & Summer.. but pls figure out nxt season while you're at it :)

I'll respectfully disagree with you on UVM..

I'm always behind teams from Mass to do well. I was hoping Lowell would make it to the tourney as an underdog, but alas. Harvard, my other favorite, is out.

Now i'm rooting for the Boston teams. We have a great college hockey town (#1 in my opinion). I'd like that dominance to continue.

.. good for Newton. He is a special player. Really enjoyed watching him this season.

G'luck in the Anaheim franchise, Jake. Your stickhandling skills were amazing to witness up close.

This is a reality NU better get used to. Its the other side of the coin, when bringing in good recruits.
Coach Cronin has done a solid job with recruiting. Hopefully that'll continue.

It's a shame, because we definitely could have used him next year, but this seems to solve our overabundance of freshmen defensemen coming in next year. Makes me wonder if Cronin recruited an extra defensemen knowing Newton might leave.It will be interesting to see if Guizor plays Defense or Offense next year too.

On the plus side, I think this gives our program some much needed cred, although I haven't been following Northeastern hockey for a while, I can't think of the last time we had a player who played one year and then signed a professional contract. Hopefully this will help us attract more top-tier talent down the line.

Clearly the coaching staff knew someone was leaving early. I didn't expect this was who it would be. Shame, he could have been one of the best D-Men ever at NU. It's worth it for him if he makes the NHL though.

Last one and done player? I can't think of any. Two and done; Costello, Robitaille, I'm sure there are others I can't think of offhand.

I cannot and will not root for bu or bc. I think uvm fans can be kinda bad so I'm rooting for me.

Yeah I can understand that argument for sure...I just like the idea of the #8 seed winning it all. But in the end, all I want is hard hitting hockey and an OT winner....is that too much to ask for? :D

Nope. Nilan played 3 years.

You could argue that Costello really only played 1 year...;)

Does Matti Uusivirta count? Or Doug Jewer?

Uusivirta could but it was back to Finland. Jewer took a year off and then played CIS, not pro.

Nilan was before my time. I'm not that old.....yet.

Jewer doesn't count cause he was still technically on the team.
