Yeah, I certainly liked Ginand and his senior year was unreal, but it's not as though McNeely and points aren't on speaking term (not that that was my sole rationale when I voted)...By the end of the year, McNeely's point total won't be too far from Ginand's four year total.

Tyler isn't the pure goal scorer that Ginand was, but then again Ginand wasn't the passer, forechecker, defender, leader and faceoff man that McNeely is.

..you're right.

The only other reason i can think of is Driscoll graduates this summer(ie 2010) ..v/s McNeely still a junior might be part of the nxt grouping (2011-2020).. but i am guessing.

Shouldn't make a difference. Remember, MacLeod was voted in.

Driscoll makes the team because he probably was the 4th best dman to play for the squad in the naguhts. Fahey, Judy, Liotti, and then Driscoll. Really, there was anywhere else to go.

As for Ginand over McNeely, Ginand put together a fine 4 year career. Up until January, McNeely had become somewhat of a nonfactor after his freshmen year.

Non-factor? 20 points+ per year on top of his defensive, forechecking, penalty killing and leadership skills? I don't think I'd say 'non-factor'.

I was the first to criticize him for a relatively unimpressive sophomore year, but I don't think he's been a 'non-factor' for more than a month at a time since he's been here. Ultimately though, I don't think anyone is going to deny that he's an all-around better player than Ginand, so when you couple that with the fact that after he's done here next year, he'll be close to (barring an injury) having 100+ points, I'd definitely take Ty every time.

This'll be the first NU-bu game I've missed in my four plus years here. Not happy about it. Hopefully I'll be at Matthews tomorrow pulling for a sweep.

Tough game. Rawlings was off his game from the start. Lets just hope he has a performance like last time vs BU at home. Home ice is off the table, so I have to hope he'll want to say goodbye to Matthews in style!

That said, I'm still hoping and praying for Maine to rebound tomorrow and lock UMASS in the 9th spot. If UMASS loses, the worst we can do, win or lose, is 8th.

Let's go Huskies, let's go Maine.

That said if we beat BU and UVM and 'Mack also lose, we'll be sitting nicely in 5th, playing at Lowell

Absolutely miss that 1 point from the tie gm at Matthews but after last night's UNH comeback.. they are a gritty bunch. Hope Butler wins the Hobey, g'luck to 'em.

Far as the Huskies.. they know what's at stake. Let's go Seniors!

Seems like the issue the last few weekends has been consistency. They've shown of late that they can hang with the best of HE for sustained periods of time, but I'm not sure we've seen a complete game effort yet. This team has discovered some of it's scoring touch and the offensive possessions look much better in this second half of the season, so I'm not inclined to worry so much about where the offense is going to come from.

That being said, I do expect a complete effort tonight. If you can't get up for this game, there's something very wrong. I'm just hoping it doesn't come down to us having to hold a one-goal lead late in the game, watching BU whip the puck around in our zone and blast away with reckless abandon.

I'm guessing that a one goal lead at the end is what we'll be seeing. Just hoping we'll be on the right side of it this time.

That said, can we talk about the last minute and a half of last nights game? That was one of the worst I'd seen in a while. It didn't seem like there was any urgency there.

Also I couldn't believe our player tried to go up with both hands to stop the puck from passing up and over behind him (anyone remember what I'm talking about?) It looked like he tried to punch the puck with the butt of his stick rather than going up with one hand to scoop it out of the air. Stupid... (was that Hewkin? He seems to have been getting a lot of time on the ice as of late. can't figure why...)


One last thing. How do you guys feel about a "B"utt "U"gly sign? I thought it'd be funny but can't really tell....

I don't know if it was just me, but it looked like in the 3rd period they were trying to stay tied, they didn't seem to have any aggression at all, and when BU scored, they couldn't rally.
