Gibber, great pics. Nice setup.. wish the outcome (for us), would've been as sweet as that print obviously is.

Awesome work.. ask Butler to take it easy this weekend :)

ps: you should prob post that in the women's hockey thread as well.

He did.

A bit off topic, and I posted it on the women's thread, but I figured some of you NU fans might enjoy:

I had put together one for UNH earlier, and had some interest from NU fans, so I put this together.

If anyone'd be interested in a print, or know someone who might be, feel free to check out my online print store, linked below. :D

Good luck the rest of the way (after this weekend ;) )

Chris Kreider is the best player in HE, no other player is even close. He was the fastest skater in last year's NHL draft. #18 How did he last so long? Bruins should trade for him; use some of Tornoto's draft picks. He will be a bigger and faster version of Kessel. Important bc game for NU tomorrow!

Dude, you gotta stop making these ridiculous statements. Justin Daniels is not NU's best forward and Chris Kreider isn't the best player in HE. I'm really high on Kreider as well and I think he's one of the most talented players in HE and could potentially be one of the better NHL players out of this crop of HE players but the bottom line is the kid has 13 points. In other words he is tied for 10th in points on his own team!

Bobby Butler, Gustav Nyquist and James Marcou are the 3 best players in HE this year. Right below that I'd put Gibbons, Atkinson, Bonino, Shattenkirk, Da Costa and Maury Edwards. Ease off on Kreider.

Interesting... Of the five nationally televised games NU has played (NESN and ESPNU) we have won NONE. In fact we have a pretty staggaring goal differential here: 10 goals for and 23 against. Looking at just those two ESPNU games, we have 2 goals for, and 11 against.

Hmm... the hockey east tourney isn't televised, is it?

Not the quarters. Well one game could possibly be, but Cronin should decline.

Yikes.

HE Semis and Finals are. NESN usually picks up a quarterfinal game, too.

My views on Chris Kreider’s ability are shared by the Rangers. He will be a millionaire before age 21.

Pass the bong over here. He might have the most upside in HE now that JVR and Wilson are gone. But best player in HE? Gibbons is light years ahead of him. So is Cam Atkinson. After that you'd have to argue he's better than Joe Whitney, which you wouldn't win right now.

He also has some big holes in his game right now. He is an amazing skater. Has a nice wrist shot and can beat a goalie one on one. He also has great deflection skills in the slot. But he has problems beating defenders one on one, especially inside (the one Beanpot goal being a very rare exception), and I don't see a lot of creativity from him to be able to beat guys one on one. He rarely drags it across to change shooting angles and use Dmen as a screen. Something with his shot he needs to work on. Even to the outside he's only gone by a few guys this year with that speed. Doesn't slow things down at all to look for a setup - thus the few assists this season.

Like I said, lots of holes in his game right now but he's heating up and scoring the few ways he knows how right now, which is impressive.

He is very raw. To say he's the best player in the league is lunacy that rivals some of the most ridiculous things written on this board. I can guarantee you the Rangers don't share your view. You just changed your argument from best player in HE to "Chris Kreider's ability" being shared by the Rangers... BIG difference.

ps - you're welcome for the education on Chris Kreider.

I thought Alex Greer had the most upside in Hockey East.

Unofficially, yes. But his stats are skewed by playing on a line with studs like the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.

I hate you all. Just the bc fangirls, actually. Our good, fun loving NU thread has turned into a bc fangirl thread proclaiming how much better they are than us. You all suck cheese balls. Minus the cheese. :D

I agree 100%. Kreider's raw talent is easy to see but I'd put him closer to Smith, Hayes, Carey and Steve Whitney then Joe, Atkinson and Gibbons as a college hockey player right now.

This will be my last post on Kreider. In the World Junior Tournament he had 6 goals and 4 assists in 7 games, including a hat trick against Latvia; high scoring USA player. As a NU fan, I hope that he has out grown bc and will be a one and done and take the $$$$, from the NY Rangers!

In fairness, I scored twice against Latvia.

I'm with Nick and TB here. Kreider is going to amazing the sky's the limit, but for me, he isn't in the top 15 in terms of players in HE.

If you're a box score watcher and you're going to use stats to try to back up your ridiculous statements, you're going to be exposed by people that have a clue on this forum. As you can see, that's already happened. Do you have any insights into his game at all other than stats? Why you think he's the best player in HE? Etc? Doesn't seem like it. Let me know when you find someone that agrees with you (aside from the NY Rangers, of course!)

He'll be back at BC next year.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thiessen

Reminds me of the Vermont weekend...I would have gladly taken a split going in, but the way it happened (winning the first, collapsing in the second) is just too ugly for words.

That said, maybe they'll respond with another hot streak.

vermont was MUCH worse.

we didn't show up, im not worried, wasnt expecting a win, im expecting 2 points per weekend as stated previously somewhere, win at home and try and show up on the road. realistic expectations.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thiessen

Considering the graduation losses and the injuries that have cost us key players for all or part of the year, this team was written off by many of its fans and even some of the loyal posters. All I was hoping for, after we lost Guzior at BC, was a sixth or seventh place finish at best. I'm inclined to give the coaches and players a lot of credit for developing a great freshman class and for finding a ways to be competitive and win a fair number of games.

I would be reasonably satisfied with two wins in the remaining "gauntlet games" and a 20 win season, since the combination would get us to the Garden in March

I wouldn't put Edwards anywhere near this group this season. Dehner, yes. Schaus, possibly. But not Edwards.
