Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thiessen

Merrimack has been terrific on special teams.. NU, not so much. We have to convert more on the PP (yes, more than we have..) & more importantly.. we have to play better, a man down.

Get those poke checks going, do not sit back as much as you did last gm.. that'll decide this gm tonight. G'luck team. Go Huskies

What's the story with tickets for tonights game? I seem to remember some kind of a promotion offered earlier in the season...?

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thiessen

Mike McMahon on http://www.warriorrinkrat.com had some interesting points on his tale of the tape for tonight's game. Apparently NU is dead last in the country in combined special teams while Mack is number one with the 2nd best PP in the country. Better win the even strength matchup or this could get ugly tonight.

There are five dollar tix to tonight's game apparently. Details on Mike's site.

Besides NU, not a better place in Hockey East to watch a game than MC. Not the nicest arena, but as far as watching the game, the sightlines are great. Best seats in the league are balcony first row center ice at Matthews.

I disagree about Lawler. Being down as low as you are, it's difficult to see the far end of the ice. I've seen high school rinks with better sightlines.

End of the second and were up 4-1. If anyone ever questioned the fact that we have the best **** fans around, just look at this... We've taken over the rink, so whatever home advantage 'Mack had to win all their games here has vanished. This is our house now!

Go Huskies... Never been prouder to be an NU fan.

Now on to the 3rd!

How about those special teams.. :) Nice road win!
Oh & a pretty decent goalie to boot. Keep it going, superbly played.

Great league win, we can always use the points, but where was this special teams scoring on Monday???

That has not been a low bar this year. Merrimack has been fantastic on home ice, in case you haven't been paying attention.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thiessen

Great win. The Mack didn't show at all in the first ten minutes of the game. Nice goals by Daniels and Vrolyk to start and end it. McNeely's on the PP was a nice redirect. Nothing Braithewaite could do on that one. Nice job by Rawlings and the D not giving up many 2nd chance opportunities.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thie

Based on Rawlings' recent performances, including the loss in the Beanpot, it looks like he may finally be solidifying himself for NU and finding some consistency. Good to see!!

'grats on the win. I hear first hand reports that you guys had a hell of a time in North Andover. :p

No small feat knocking off the Mack in their home barn this year. Earlier in the year my team was on the tail end of a big whoopin' at Lawler.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thiessen

Really solid win last night for the team, they needed it going down this upcoming brutal stretch of HEA play coming up. At this point every point is at such a premium cause come the end of the year they might be hard to come by...

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thie

Great win, wish I could have been there (Three papers due the day after the Super Bowl...****ed up). Sounds like another solid outing by Rawlings. Good to see the Daniels Brothers continuing to produce.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thiessen

Nice weekend, now the 5-8th placed teams are all tied for games played and more or less tied (we're one point behind them). Hopefully we can keep playing the way we have the last few games.

Hey - do any of you know how much Northeastern group tickets cost?

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thiessen

Not sure, but just in case nobody else can give you an answer, try giving the ticket office a call.

From Gonu.com:
Group Ticketing: Group rate prices are available for all athletic events for any party of 15 or more, but group tickets must be purchased at least 48 hours prior to the start of the game. For group reservations contact the NU Ticket Center at 617-373-4700.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Northeastern University Huskies Season Thread - Life Post Thiessen

Do we rest Rawlings for today's gm against Harvard? Does the result matter? We have a 2 gm series against UMass this wknd in which i think we'll need him both gms. We need 4 pts.. but likely i see us splitting. Especially the Fri gm over at Mullins..they got blown out by BC there last wk. They'll be hoping not to repeat. I think Rawlings could be the difference over the wknd, if we have any chance for 4 pts.

If Rawlings does play today.. it'll be 3 gms in 6 days for him. Just my opinion, start Bryan Mountain tonight. Cronin is 1-2 against HU, hopefully we can grind out a 'W' tonight without relying too much on who's in goal. Our 'D' has been solid lately. It will not be easy for sure..Harvard does not want to be embarrased twice at the Garden. They had themselves a good victory over Brown but not without controversy. They're having discipline problems of their own.

Anyway, i say.. start Mountain tonight.. rest Rawlings for the weekend. What say you, Husky fans? Prediction: A very close gm tonight. Go team :)
