Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

'08, re-san say it is good to speak of present, bad to assume future. ;)

Thrilled at the results of the weekend and firming up of league position, pwr, rpi, krach (the present :)). Well done to all with the possible exception of "I told you so" rhm. :D

Another challenge this weekend on the road.

Haha I know I know, but people need to take deep breaths around here and stop panicing at the first sign of trouble. One weekend doesn't make a season good or bad. There were a lot of people jumping ship after the RMU performance and it was unnecessary. Just trying to put perspective to things and take everything into consideration, as well as understand how long and tough a college hockey season is. My patience has come from you lol, so I was just trying to calm everyone down all week and love when the team proves me right! :D

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Mid-term rankings for the NHL central scouting came out. No Miami players or recruits listed....

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Eh, that's kind of understandable right now. You can bet you will see a few Miami players on the list next year. Most of our key young guys are already picked up, Reilly, McKenzie, Knapp, Weber, even Vogelhuber. And some kids are too old, otherwise they would most certainly be listed (Reichard).

Some big games at UAF this weekend. If we win we keep our commanding conference lead, if UAF wins they get closer to securing a top 4 finish and creeping up in PWR.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

anybody have some good picks of the Goggin for the Ice Arena thread?

Looking forward to this weekend. UAF is always a tough go, especially due to the travel. To be honest, I am quite surprised by UAF's GAA. Their GF are up a little - but they aren't a blazing offense (never have been). But they've been absolutely torched for nearly 2.6 gpg (2.94 gpg in conference play). It was just under 2.00 gpg just a year ago.

Yea but I wasn't really looking at the current roster, more at the recruits. Thought little wideman would get a look with his experience at the US national team level as well as berschbach and thought Mullin would be on their for sure, although Im not sure if he is elligible this year or not he might be a young 17. I don't think Gacek is elligible, but he would have to get a look as well as Biggs.

Well two big games this weekend, but next weekends series looks to have gotten a lot tougher. Boy Lake St. is playing well....

Don't forget that we have WMU between the Nooks and Lakers.

Stupid time zones. 11pm is a good time for hockey games to be wrapped up. I'll probably break and pay the $7 to watch the B2 feed regardless...

Your right, saw that after I posted. Western series could be a big trap series. Lake state is a scary team to play right now...

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Granted Lake has been on a roll the past few weeks, going 8-1-1 in last 10. But they really don't have any quality wins that stick out. Guy in the UAF thread has a great graph of where teams have won or lost points, 25 of Lakes 30 points have come from the bottom 5 teams. Hell they only got 1 point from WMU. If they had a win against a top team in that streak maybe there'd be some concern, but not so much.

Your looking at it wrong. For me it doesn't matter who they have beaten, they are on a roll and playing with great confidence. Just beacuase they are 8-1-1 against teams in the bottom half only shows me they beat the teams they are suppose too. They swept RMU who swept us.... Any team in this conference who is playing well and with confidence is dangerous, so to me they will be a tough test and a tougher one than we initially though. They are getting great goaltending and we saw what that can do to this team who has struggled at times to score goals. WMU tied us with a hot goaltender so that stat doesnt pull much weight.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Has anyone used that B2networks stream before? Is it worth the $7? I've bought the steam from Big10 network when we played Ohio State earlier this season and that was $2 or $3 for a pretty good quality product. $7 seems kind of hefty unless it's really good.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Never tried any of the B2 action.

And I'm not disputing the fact that the Lakers have been on a good run recently, in fact I even pointed it out how good they were in the last 10. Their best result on the season though has been a Michigan State tie. We'll see how they do this weekend against a down, but more talented, Irish team.

Frankly, if you can get the game on the radio or a radio feed, I think that's your better option. The B2 streams for the Ferris games last week did not have a very clear picture and the feed was DEFINITELY not very reliable. We missed four of the goals during the Saturday game because the feed kept cutting out and getting backlogged. If you have no other option and you really want to watch, then grab some friends and split the $7. Otherwise, I don't think it's worth it.

I am not sure if your connection was bad, but my B2 was very good. It was a little roundabout to get there, but the picture was very clear, connection only froze once or twice during the weekend. It was much better than Miami's feed.

I have to say Miami's feed is the worst i've watched thus far. It is so washed-out you can barely see the Miami skaters in their white sweaters. Plus, it freezes a LOT!!!

Halfway through the game now, ND 6 Lakers 1.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Nooks up 1-0 after 1p. Miami did a good job of controlling most of the period, but more penalty problems. Led to only goal of the period - a sprawling try at 19:32. The UAF announcers giving some crap about Alaska carrying play through the 1st period. I don't know what game they were watching, but it wasn't the one i was watching.

The irony is that, as i spoke so highly of the B2 feed, it just cut out on me. Within the 3 minutes that it took me to get it back, we scored to tie it up at 1-1. LMAO!...not really:mad:

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Tied 1-1 after 2 periods. Miami has continued to carry the play through this period, including getting the equalizer by Pat Cannone from Wingels and Camper. Miami really seems to be skating better as the games moves along. I love watching our guys on the big ice, cuz they can really move. The skills, speed, passing are really geared towards the large sheet. It makes me feel good about our chances come March (be we blessed enough to play in the NCAA).

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

yea of course I stick up for them and give them props and what do they do? Lay a freaking egg lol, crow tastes good if you were wondering! :D

Its all good, we know how dangerous Jakaitis used to be when they would ride him all year.
