Re: Obama XVIII : Now with 100% more Gov't sponsored starvation

Another effort to make Obama out as a centrist and not pushing liberal causes.

No, he pushes liberal causes...then rolls over like the (female dog) he is when the GOP so much as looks at him askance. If he had any backbone whatsoever, he'd have been able to accomplish more than that cluster**** of a health care bill in 2 years.

Re: Obama XVIII : Now with 100% more Gov't sponsored starvation

No, what's hilarious is what a bunch of ******* the Democrats are. That's funny.

Because they don't push liberal causes as much as they should, eh? Again, nobody is liberal enough or pushes their causes enough for Scooby, who like to posit himself as a centrist.

If I was a hardcore partisan liberal, I might possibly buy into this line of thinking.

LOL too funny. How's your evolution research coming? Do you have any evidence to support your view yet?

There is nothing liberal about wanting the bills paid. A tax cut for anyone right now is NOT a conservative position. If/When they actually start cutting programs I'll believe they want to pay the bills. Until then giving all these tax cuts is only pushing us towards bankruptcy.

I find it positively hyprocritical for anyone to support these tax cuts and call themselves a fiscal conservative.

And I'm an ambivalent moderate centrist, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that control of the White House + huge majority in the House of Reps + filibuster-proof Senate should've gotten more done than they did.

The Democrats are *******. They deserved to get steamrolled this year and if they continue to be *******, they'll get steamrolled in 2 more years.

When am I getting the tax cut anyway?

Yah you are. :p

I know you're being a snark, but January 1. Should get slightly more takehome pay thanks to the lowered SSI withholding

If you're a big fan of tax increases, you say this is a tax cut. If you aren't a big fan of tax increases, you say that your taxes are staying the same as they were last year. Typical Washington doublespeak.

Hilarious and Bob's wrong.

The Bush Tax Cuts law was set to expire this year. That means that next years taxes were BY LAW supposed to go back to the Clinton's level. By extending these rates they are effectively giving everyone a tax cut.

Saying that not extending them was giving an increase is the real spin.

This country has no interest is paying its bills. NONE.

Re: Obama XVIII : Now with 100% more Gov't sponsored starvation

Apparently my taxes are staying the same, so when do I get my cut?

Sure. Believe the spin. You don't want the bills paid either.

We're now in a world where the Republicans are too chicken to cut anything and the Democrats are too chicken to raise taxes. Bankruptcy is a foregone conclusion.

This may seem like the outcome but I don't know if that's truly what's driving it.

As in, I consider it very likely that Obama is a consensus builder...rather than what others might see as being strictly weak. So while the intention and approach may be different, the perceived outcome would be the same.

You're the one believeing the spin, calling it a tax cut, the cut happened 10 years ago, they're keeping the status quo. If they were serious about it they'd raise taxes and cut spending but they aren't serious about anything except keeping power. Term limits or die

Its called populist. IMO this is another horrible outcome of the crapola coming at us from the rightwing media...paying your way (ie taxes) is bad.

Why was there a sunset provision in this tax law? When you answer that you'll know that what I am saying is true.

Have you ever heard of perception? When something is in place for ten years, people are used to it for a good while and the perception is that they are permanent, so when people see their taxes go up next year if they aren't extended, it's understandable that they'd perceive it as a tax increase. You may not agree that's the right way to go, but it's stupid to argue people won't, and can't reasonably, perceive it as an increase.

Jan 1 2011. SSI tax lowers to 4.2% from 6.2% ... year after you can complain about your tax going up.

So that's how oil companies and farmers have been able to keep their taxcuts for the last 20-30years by calling it a tax hike. It seems like the rationale for the taxcut has been lost ($10/barrel FarmAid) and it's been renewed on the basis of no tax hike mantra.

Obama=Bush2 has been said before. Unless you get a nutjob republican candidate or charismatic 3rd party, Obama is going down by a landslide in 2012.
