Obama XV: Now, with 20% more rage

Re: Obama XV: Now, with 20% more rage

I think that for people like Obama, Pelosi and the true Alinsky-type believers there's no other POV but "we're going to save you from yourself" "your dumb, listen to us we know what's right and good for you"

any practical democrats left (how many voted against healthcare?) are going to find it difficult to muster an argument that can win because Obama is quickly becoming the new Bush in terms of his image tarnishing his party (except O is lucky in that the media acts as if it's state controlled when a D is in high office so the only place he gets beat up for his performance is on radio or Fox, as opposed to the zillions of outlets that dissected Bush and immolated the pieces)

oh, we know what they believe... its another matter in regards to what they will say. I mean, we have a radical who pretended he was a moderate by saying things that nobody could generally be disagreeable about.

I think they'll start TALKING like moderates... hell, most of the healthcare bill was spent talking by our media and the dems about how good it was and how moral it was and fair and so on. Mind you nobody read the bill... you just had to trust in their ethereal goodness. Now you'll just have to trust that they will work hard to save you from them.

if the shoe fits

you know what's funny? liberals always resort to name calling or creating bogeyman. It speaks volumes about their arguments and ideology.

it's the classless and sophmoric mindset we're forced to deal with.

you're right I just hope that the electorate has done enough reading and listening in the past 2 years to innoculate themselves against the garbage that will be strewn at them from desperate dems...

and GOPers don't do that? GOPers have the holeyer than thou mindset. They most certainly resort to name calling. They also drum up fear in people.

GOPers scream about the right to life for the unborn, yet have no problems killing someone for victimless crimes.

Both the Dems and GOPers have the same exact idea - The government should control others, but it shouldn't control me.

America doesn't have a two party system, it has a one party system with two factions. Wish I could recall who said that so I could give them credit.

Exactly why I'm not one.

Why does it matter knowing the real answer? Just make something up. Martin Luther King probably said it. Bam. "America doesn't have a two party system, it has a one party system with two factions." - Martin Luther King

You say that as if liberals and "GOPers" are two different things.
I sincerely hope that anyone who has a chance to vote for liberty and real conservatism will help throw out the current crop of idiots from congress. There is no substantial difference between these corrupt gangs now in power.

I've been saying it on here for years if that helps except I don't even think their are 2 factions

I hear this "I'm not a Republican, I'm a conservative" crap all the time. GOPers are conservatives. If we get rid of the current crop of "idiots," then what do we have to look forward to? Evolution being banned from schools? The crumbling of our separation of church and state? Roe v. Wade being repealed? No thanks.

So are all liberals Democrats? I seem to recall a period where liberals didn't think that their chosen party was serving them, a hefty some (not a majority) found themselves disassociating with the party and simply referring to themselves as liberals. Others went on to form the Green party.

In what way is the current situation within the GOP different from the happenings within the Democrat party any different?

So No Child Left Behind was a conservative idea? Was the Medicare Part D plan conservative?

I think the conservatives that voted for NCLB did so cause they believed it ultimately would lead to the breaking of the Teachers unions.

The Medicare Part D plan was entirely a political move for votes. They don't pass it and they pass the constituency to the Democrats forever.

The politics of the Hispanic vote is going to be interesting but I think Hispanics are less "one issue voters" than people give them credit for so I don't think any strategy on either side is likely to work.

You are quickly becoming my favorite poster.

Sure. But setting aside the motivations behind the votes, were the internal ideas behind the bills conservative? Heck no.

So either TimP has a crazy idea of what conservatism is, or the GOP members of Congress he's referring to aren't really very conservative.

We're also hoping to end womens suffrage... after all, they've suffred enough.

Beyond the irony of your entire post..I think Steve was riffing on the fact that you misused "Your" when you said "Your stupid". It was kinda funny :D

Yeah that's certainly true.

Because I try and give credit where credit's due and try and not mis-credit.

I'd be curious just what percent of voters are one issue voters. It sure seems very high.

hey, I'm not a GOP'er I'm a conservative who leans socially liberal so more like Guiliani I suppose. When I mean small government and governement out of my life/way I mean that when it comes to the right to choose too.

however I'd note abortion and capital punishment are too very separate issues and I don't know if it's fair to make an argument that equates the two.'

on holier than thou....uhm they're are a few GOP'ers like that. But my argument was not just pols, it was liberals in general. more times than I care to recall when I get in a debate with a liberal they end up resorting to name-calling and bogeyman creating and get all frothy at the mouth. it's pretty scary really.

of course...I should have known not to take the bait on those discussions.

as for controlling others I'd argue generally the GOP is the party of hands-off, that's why they protect for the 1st and 2nd amendments so staunchly. It's not the GOP that sets up websites for americans to rat each other out on healthcare, or who are for ending secret balloting, it goes on and on.

the evangelicals (to whom I assume you are referring) can be tied to a rocket for all I care and sent through the sun. get your religion out of my face... I mean I believe in God but I'm not going to put that in someone's face, nor put forth my personal interpretations of the bible.

I understood that part but I kinda don't care about minor grammatical errors when I write for a message board.

as for irony, really? you do know the definition of that term n'est ce pas?
