What's your team, BTW?
MSU-EL has 6 ... but IMHO this question only results in meaningful answers if you weight the numbers.
Because theoretically a 3rd rounder has far more potential than a 6th rounder.
So what about 1st round = 7 points, 2nd round = 6 points, ... , 7th round = 1 point?
MSU-EL: 7 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 1 = 26 "draft points"

No first round picks at UND! Hurray the curse has been lifted!UND will not have a first-round draft pick on the team this season. The last time that happened was 1999-00, also UND's last national title. In fact, the only first-round pick to win a national title at UND was James Patrick in 1982.
Good to see NHL teams have faith in the coaching.a recent trend of NHL teams going off the board to get a Sioux recruit...guys who were unranked by Central Scouting when they committed to UND but ended up going in the draft
UND's two best players last year were Ryan Duncan and Chay Genoway -- both undrafted players. In fact, three of UND's top four scorers last season were undrafted free agents.
Obviously high draft choices (Turris, Kessel) leave school early and obviously don't contribute as much as guys who stick around for four years.
You might have a pretty good formula if you multiply the draft choice points by the year in school. Say a 5th Round Junior is worth (3 pts X 3 years = 9 pts). A first round Freshman is worth 7 pts (7 X 1 year).
Jensen 9th round (-1 point , I'll make it 0.)
York 6th round 2 points
Bergin 7th round 1 point
Foss 6th round 2 points
Pirri 2nd round 6 points
D'Amigo 6th round 2 points

Wow. Pretty high number.Using this, Minnesota ends up with 212 points.
