Notre Dame to Big 10?

Re: Notre Dame to Big 10?

Don't put much stock in bleacher report articles, most of the time they're total crap.

What's funny is that if this is true the ACC will probably try to snag a Big East team to make up for the loss of Maryland. UCONN seems the most likely.

possibly, or the more likely scenario is that the sec doesnt sit idly and let the Big 16 and Pac-16 bulk up around them and snatches FSU, Miami, VT, and Clemson/GT forcing the ironic merger of the remnants of each to form the Big ACC.

Re: Notre Dame to Big 10?

Living in Maryland, I find it... difficult... to believe Maryland would be interested in joining the B10.

Re: Notre Dame to Big 10?

Nebraska.

Will Nebraska at Omaha count as a Big Ten team?

Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Wisconsin
Minnesota

that's six.

Re: Notre Dame to Big 10?

Until any of the schools mentioned in the article comes out and says we are joing the Big Ten, will I then believe it.

Re: Notre Dame to Big 10?

Offhand, would this mythical (or real) rule about half the conference needing a team in a sport to "require" (or not) a Big Ten conference stay at 6 in a Big 14 or 16, or does it jump to 7,8 or 9?

No, Nebraska Omaha is separate from Nebraska Lincoln (main campus). Its like Univ of Michigan Ann Arbor (main campus) and Univ of Michigan Flint.

Re: Notre Dame to Big 10?

Meh. Rather have Mizzou.

I wouldnt count them out...a lot of pieces are going to fall in the coming months. Its going to be one hell of a fight for Kansas, Kansas State (mostly basketball). I can see the SEC maybe adding those two teams...the MWC will be all over them for their BCS bid.

Also, I read on ESPN that the Pac-16 is going for two BCS bids (one for each division) which will allow them to hold off on a Title game, and possibly set up a showdown between West vs East in the BCS title game should they be #1 and #2.
