Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

Last I heard, no.

If it can't be restored to its pristine self...let it go. I'd rather not have a shell of a structure, because it was that beautiful, if you understand what I'm saying.

Consider it payment for all the awful stuff the Church has done in the last 2000 years.

Notre Dame ceased being a Catholic symbol long ago. It isn't even a Christian symbol. It is, in order of importance:

1. A symbol of humanity.
2. A symbol of Western Civilization.
3. A symbol of Paris.

Also, Catholicism only got started in the 6th century, so they have just 1400 years to atone for. Now if you're looking for how long the Christians have to atone for, that takes you back to about 100 AD and the Four Evangelists weaponizing Jesus' life.
