Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

Of course you could...

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

There's another theory... https://www.newswars.com/notre-dame...re-worker-claims-it-was-deliberately-started/

And given the size of those flames, I could certainly see it as a possibility.

You must not know that most of the inner structure is made of wood, an entire forest's worth. So there's more than enough fuel to make flames that large.

While it could be possible, the flame size has nothing to do with that.

You should be smart enough to know that....

People should be smart enough for a lot of things, but there we have it.

I'm well aware of the building. And considering the fire started in the roof, which given the structure of the cathedral needs to have that sort of truss support...

I'm just not buying the cover story, especially given the migrant takeover and Yellow Vest activity on the weekends.

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

Given the renovations and all the scaffolding, I'm going to believe this was a terrible, terrible accident until proven otherwise.

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

While I have been there, it never dawned on me that there was so much wood until you see it burning. So much, that there was little hope to really put it out...

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

Just saw one of the live feeds where it appears that the fire has gotten into one of the bell towers... Which were recently restored.

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

Has anyone heard whether the cathedral was open for tourists today, or whether it was closed due to the construction? It seems like there should have been people around about the time it started.

What I heard was that it was partially open, being Holy Week.

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

I can hear church bells. I wonder if they are ringing them from the other churches to say goodbye.
