Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

French Ministry of Interior says 400 firefighters on site are to save what they can, but the building is a loss.

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

We only have a few more hours to look at her. The garbage will keep until tomorrow. Please.

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

What will they replace Her with? Google St. Vibiana (old cathedral) and Taj Mahoney (new cathedral).

Pius X warned us about modernism. He should have meant church architecture.

They'll probably put a mosque there. Just like they tried to do with Ground Zero in NYC.

Re: Notre Dame Cathedral is burning down...

Please, don't joke like that. I can see that, but that would mean the end of Christian Europe.

I wish I could tell you that the thought was a joke. Look at how many "migrants" (i.e. military-aged Muslims) Europe has been flooded with. And look at how Christians are being persecuted even in supposedly "safe" spots.

Take it to the conspiracy thread.

Gotta wonder, whatever's left standing after this is out, how much of it can they leave standing in the middle of an urban area?

The talking heads (or faceless voices since I'm listening on XM) said while it's in a very urban environment, it is on an island and is separated from surrounding structures.

Sidenote: Brian Williams on MSNBC sucks. His banter sucks, his on-site callers suck, he's just terrible. The MSNBC host before him was so much better.

It's on ile de la Cite. Go here and turn on Satelite. It's well away from everything else.

Fun fact: the house where Peter Abelard and Heloise had their tryst before the, ahem, overreaction, in just up the street.

I have BBC World News in HD on FIOS. Not watching anything else - until 7pm
