Northern Michigan University Hockey 2017-18: The Grant Potulny Era begins

Currently 15 in PWR. Would get us in, but would love to see a sweep against Tech, and 5 victories in the Playoffs.

Let's hope the students show up.

15th would NOT get the 'Cats into the NCAA's. Currently, Hockey East's Boston College is 18th and Atlantic Hockey's Mercyhurst is 25th, but are leading their conferences and would get the automatic qualifiers.

If things go straight chalk, 'Cats need to be 14th or better if Penn State upsets or other upsets, 'Cats could need to be 12th or higher to make it at-large.

Let’s just make it easy and get a five-game winning streak.

For whomever said the 'Cats were a surprise team that blindsided everyone in 1991 over in the Facebook group...

That's not what the WMPL College Hockey Polls showed at the time. In fact, they had the 'Cats ranked #1 right out of the gate and kept them in the top three all season (except for a short dip to 6th when the 'Cats went 0-3-1 against Minnesota and Maine).

I am very sad that I can't find a way to get to MQT this weekend. I would even have a place to stay (one of my friends is the director of choral music at NMU).

Just wait until boot_grant_potulny comes along.
