Coach Potulny was a bit of a surprise hire, but so far, I'm impressed and everyone I've talked to around hockey has nothing but good things to say about him!

Based on what I'm hearing, I would expect that commitment at least for assistant salaries, and most likely by extension the recruiting budget.

Strength is a University position and is shared with other sports. They'd have a tough time changing Ops as well.

IMO Rockwood might help if he has someone to move the puck to that can bury it. Boutin was originally a QU Commit he will need an assistant coach to keep him in line as far as discipline and books are concerned but could turn out to be a really good one. Ward needs another year of Junior as an overage, and even then, probably won’t be able to handle the big surface, or the speed. His dad played at Northern for Rick and Walt when Walt was an Assistant. Nardi could be good in a year or two.

2017-18 NMU Hockey recruit F Keegan Ward (6'2" 200lbs) came from good lineage as his father Ed Ward played at NMU from (1987-1991) and then played in the AHL & NHL from (1992-2002)....

2017-18 NMU Hockey recruit F Joseph Nardi (5'11" 175lbs) had 18 goals & 35 assists for 53 points in 52 games played last year for the Whitecourt Wolverines in the AJHL....

no one has any idea on anything other than the games will be January 5, 6...involve MTU, NMU, ASU, and BC and they will be played at the same place the Golden Knights play...

The article said check back at icevegasinvitational.com in the near future for ticket/hotel details. I wonder if each school will have travel packages to offer or if we'll be on our own to get to this one.

Lou going with Danton to East Lansing was a virtual given. Picking up a guy he worked with at USNTDP was just about also a given. I wouldn't have been surprised if it had been Tyler Eaves (although I think that he might have left hockey).

WCHA schedule is out. Very favorable second half slate for the Cats. Just two big trips and only five away games total in 2018. Two games in Vegas, two in Anchorage, one in Houghton.

Makes up for the road heavy 2017 portion of the schedule.

Non-Conference against: vs Wisconsin (in Green Bay), @ Omaha, H/H vs LSSU, @ Ice Vegas Invitational.

And Omaha comes on the back end of the Fairbanks trip.

Does anyone think NMU can get (15) goals out of Jr. Forward Troy Loggins (5'9" 160lbs) and/or Jr. Forward Adam Rockwood (5'10" 165lbs) in 2017-18????
