Northeastern Recruits

Re: Northeastern Recruits

If he continues to develop as he has demonstrated during the past 6 months, JM will get his autograph on an LOI in November. He was one of the few "A" rated players according to the scouts and is potentially a high draft choice next june.

10 dmen on the team right now. one graduates. one to come in with Cockerill. if Willett does come, be interesting to see which guy this year sits if nobody pulls a Newton and leaves after their freshmen year.

Good problems to have I guess.

You are right about the roster. I'm not sure what will shake out, but I don't expect Hoeffler to ever suit up and I'm not sure what roles Fennell and Oskroba will play. In addition, Sauce is coming off knee surgery and Gunn had it the year before. They may be just fine, but it serves as a reminder that this game produces lots of injuries. We finished last season without Ferriero, McLauglin and Vrolyk, three players who might have made up a full productive line.

As for Willett coming next year, it would be some trick as, I believe, he has just started his sophomore year in high school out in Lincoln. He could accelerate in order to come in '14 but no chance of '13.

I have no idea how important it is to have Cockerill come in next year or whether he will be ready. If it seems warranted, we could ask him to play another year in the USHL.

Re: Northeastern Recruits

Here is the most up to date recruiting chart for Northeastern.

Dylan Sikura-LW 2/4/14 Aurora (OJHL)
Matt Filipe-LC 2/1/2014 2016 Malden Catholic
Grant Jozefek-LW 12/7/2013 2016 NJ Hitmen U18
Trevor Owens-LD 12/6/2013 NJ Hitmen (USPHL)
Ryan Rosenthal-LW 11/24/2013 Coquitlam (BCHL)
Nolan Stevens-LC 10/29/2013 USNDPT U18 Team
Shaun Bily-LC 10/19/2013 2016 or 2017 Honeybaked U16
Nick Hutchison-RW 6/25/2013 2014 or 2015 Avon Old Farms
James Winkler-RW 4/24/2013 2015 Portland (USPHL)
David Melaragni-LD 2/21/2013 2016 or 2017 Team Comcast
Lincoln Griffin-LW 2/20/2013 2015 or 2016 Thayer
Chad Duchesne-LD 9/12/2012 2015 Sioux Falls (USHL)
Jason Cotton-RW 7/12/2012 2014 or 2015 West Kelowna (BCHL)
Josh Couturier-LD 7/11/12 Des Moines (USHL)
Garrett Cockerill-RD 8/23/11 Des Moines (USHL)

Highlights to me are Matt Filipe and Grant Jozefek. Both elite talents and Filipe is already pro size at age 16.

It was a rough couple of summers (minus Kevin Roy), especially 2011 but it looks like Madigan and co. are bringing some good talent to Huntington.
