Bentley is oddly being played on Monday 1/6 per NU ticket box office. Holy Cross would be Saturday 10/19. They had PC on 1/31 before PC released schedule so it's probably true.

Big changes on the coaching/program staff front: https://www2.nuhuskies.com/news/201...-hockey-announces-coaching-staff-changes.aspx

  • Asst Coach Jason Smith becomes "Hockey Advancement Coordinator"
  • Mike McLaughlin moves up from DOHO to Asst Coach
No description of what duties and responsibilities Smith's new job entails although "advancement" usually relates to fund raising. Also no replacement for McLaughlin in the DOHO job or any indication re whether or not it's being folded into the new Advancement position.

Very happy for Jason & Mike. The will do well.
Jason has always had the right attitude. Mike is very good with the skills & younger kids already.. wishing them both the best in their new roles.

Bentley hosting Canisius on January 10th and 11th, but apparently free the previous weekend?

I'm not sure if Bentley has an away game that weekend yet but NU is at UConn Friday 1/3 so they could've played Saturday 1/4 - must be a schedule issue with a diff sport or Bentley is just simply away.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

Bentley's schedule is out, confirming the 1/6 game against Northeastern

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

Struble signed his NLI, making this upcoming season arguably the most talented defensive corps Madigan had assembled since taking over

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

ICYMI, BVR and Pantano officially announced for the team this year

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

If this is the same Craig Pantano who pitched a shutout vs NU at Matthews last season, the result might well be the best Husky defensive team ever.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

If this is the same Craig Pantano who pitched a shutout vs NU at Matthews last season, the result might well be the best Husky defensive team ever.

And if it is the same Craig Pantano who let in 24% of the shots he faced in the prior game, the result might well be the worst defensive team ever.

Put me down for the actual result falling somewhere in between.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

Somewhere in between is a reasonable conclusion. But the defense should be a strong point no matter which Pantano shows up.
