Northeastern Huskies 2017-18: Every Dog Has its Day

Carrabino in, Cockerill out. That's obviously not good.

As expected, Ruck is in net.
That’s interesting! We’ve replaced an offensive, but ? defender with a guy who is supposed to be a stay-at-home guy rather than using Ryan Solomon who has more O in his game.

I hope Cockerill’s OK. He must have been looking forward to checking his little brother over the boards.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2017-18: Every Dog Has its Day

Ha! I literately just posted on the BU thread that we have Cockerill against Cockerill. Bummed that it’s not going to happen tonight. When I met his folks at the start of the season, they said they didn’t know what they were going to do at these games. I told them about how Joe Perreira’s mother got a half BU, half UMass jersey made when her younger son Michael was a freshman at UMass.

So, is Teemu ever at any of your games?

He was at the parents weekend game last week and was interviewed on the NU stream between periods.

Surprised no goaltender interference there. Ruck got hit in the head pretty hard with an elbow/arm there.

Stevens!!! Awesome period. Really looked good out there.

bu did impress me with their skating. They look like they can turn it on at any moment. Let's take advantage of the day off yesterday and really keep going at full speed.

I wonder if it was on that play in the first period. Looked like something happened but he stayed in the game. Maybe whatever happened got worse? Given that you guys are totally in control, I can see him being taken out as a precaution.

yes & Primeau.. freshman & all still needs to work on stuff.. so ideally, if we had to put him in situation with Senior hurt.. least we doing it spotting him a bit of a lead. This is as ideal as it'll get for him, hopefully can learn some more tonight & hold fort.

Why does the bu camera crew cut away any time there is a scrum? Pretty annoying... That and no replays of penalties..

Mental Note:

When chanting 'BU SUCKS', I have to clarify which one when traveling in Binghamton, NY

I'm pretty sure that it's a station policy - the same way that the directors are instructed to show the idiots who like to run on to the baseball field to meet their favorite player. Obviously the NHL doesn't feel the same way:eek:

That was a terrific statement win for the Huskies, for their goaltending and a present for those who asked for scoring from lines 2-4. Gaudette and Sikura have contributed just one goal (sh) and zero assists during the past two games. Sikura won't help next week either as he has Canadian Olympic team obligations.

I watched in disbelief in the first period when a terriere forward gave a forearm "shiver" to Ruck and wasn't called for even a minor - when he might have earned 5 minutes and an ejection. I hope that Ruck does not display symptoms of a concussion.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2017-18: Every Dog Has its Day

Aside from a flurry at the start of the second I thought NU dominated the game. Never really out of control or in doubt once they had a lead. Especially in the third. BU never threatened and NU's prevent defense repelled everything. Also Primeau looked very good in his showing.

Stevens is obviously the star but Solow, Filipe, Jozefek, Hampton, and literally the whole D corps was solid. Davies is a monster on both ends. Shea was great too.

Apparently Cockerill's missing in action was a coach's decision. no injury.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2017-18: Every Dog Has its Day

I don't know if we are really that good as from my seats it was clear a couple of the goals had eyes, but I will say this it was a nice 60 minute effort, with good 3 zone play and net minding and anytime we take 2 points on Comm. Ave I am happy. Nice job Huskies. Also getting kind of pricy over there but they do have a deal called me + (3) which was pretty good deal with one free tic, when you purchase 4. Would luv to see some free parking at some point too. Pumped for next weeks homecoming! Look who is in 2nd place! GC was not playing tonight and as it seems the board rats would prefer I refrain from any rants I will only say "No comment" Also, refs who usually kill us gave us a fair shake as both Benedetto and Keenan looked like they must have received new husky puppies and orders form Joe Bertagna to keep it fair. Best game I have ever seen that pair ref in years. It's so different w/o Parker to barking at them all night. Lots of stars tonight with Nolan clearly at the top of the list but RR really looked steady and Primeau was solid in relief tonight too. Great team effort and game plan. Hope RR is OK! It happened really fast. Not sure! Also, it sees that any play that is in question, even the scrums and reviewed goals never seem make it back to the Jumbo tron at Agganis ???
