Awhile ago I took shots at the fan base for not attending tailgates, pre-game, games and making trips and I was shouted down. The NU fan bus was cancelled because we couldn't get 30 people to make the trip to Cincy! DISGUSTED! YOU DONT DESERVE THIS TEAM, YOU BUNCH OF FRAUDS!!!
I usually don't agree with him, but I do have to admit that I am a little disappointed that 30 students couldn't find the time and money to make the trip, at least on the fan bus. I have been a fan since I began going to NU back in '99 and trust me, the opportunity to see the Huskies play in the NCAA tournament does not come around that often. I went to Grand Rapids back in 2009 and there were only a handful of fans that made the trip back then too. At least then the school didn't offer a fan bus and a low priced package to go so there was an excuse.
I know it's Easter and all but I still can't believe that they can't find 30 students to make the trip at a school with over 10k students.
With all due respect, there are times and places to confront the AD but this isn't one of them. This weekend is all about the players and what they've accomplished, regardless of what happens Friday night. It's not about alumni, boosters, or assorted others with axes to grind. Focus on the first word of your screen name.
If you want to be miserable, go to the bu party. Oh wait, they aren't here.![]()
What an unbelievable run! We never win. Was everyone else just waiting for something freak to happen in both the BC game (which we dominated) and the Lowell game so that we'd lose in the usual horrible fashion? Way to go team, keep up the great work!
In other news, I spoke to a couple people who went to the pre-game gathering on Friday. Apparently it was the usual NU event planning. No food ready when event started, poorly attended, when food did come out there wasn't enough for everybody so some had to wait even longer to get any food. I mean, what gives? Is it that difficult to put one of these things together and get it right? Ugh....glad I didn't go.
Regarding the bus- Revengeance hit it on the head. It has nothing to do with lack of interest- I spent much of the early part of the week talking to people advocating for the tournament, the bus, and the viewing party. Nearly all of the people I spoke to expressed interest in WANTING to be there, but logistically/financially could not make it work. Whether it was the prospect of 26 hours on a bus for a potentially 3 hour reward (bus leaves the day after we finish), or sharing hotels with strangers, or could not skip 2 days of class, or cannot miss two days of work/co-op, or just did not have the $100 to pony up immediately, there are a multitude of reasons for the bus failing. It is NOT because of lack of interest. I myself, even with my position and my passion, could not make the trip work, so I will be at the viewing party front and center advocating for people on campus to join me. I told players and Coach this, and they were of course fully understanding. This fan base has and continues to fully support the team. However, similar to the Ireland trip, there is MUCH interest, however logistics and financials prevented a lot of people from making their desires reality.

For whatever reason I expected us to beat Notre Dame and then lose in crushing fashion in the Garden and miss the tourney. After beating and outplaying BC, I then believed we could win it all. Still unreal when we did though. What a team.

Yes they are. As TheRevengence said, the truth is somewhere in the middle. The middle of a 28% chance and an 86% chance is a 57% chance of beating NoDak and even that is high in my opinion. I would say one of the best teams in the country all year vs. the hottest team in the country is about a coin flip with maybe a slight edge going to the (artist formally known as) Sioux.
No way. NU is red hot, and the F'Hawkers are struggling. F'Hawkers should be spotted at least two to make it fair.

We spotted BC one goal, but it did them no good at all. It just woke up the dogs. Are you suggesting that the "Fighting Predators" are not as good as the Igles and therefore we need a bigger handicap?
