Northeastern Huskies 2014 Offseason: Resurrection's Over....Now What?

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014 Offseason: Resurrection's Over....Now What?

Wow, that is quite a shocker given this late in the offseason. Wonder what the "disagreement" was about?

I guess Smith will be taking over the defensive coaching duties.

I was shocked to see Foley left. I want to know why, of course, but we likely won't get details. This tweet from Jeff Cox has be thinking we'll have a good replacement in Mr. Smith: "Jason Smith has been around the rinks, he'll do fine recruiting and he will be good with X's and O's. Very respected in hockey circles."

Here's a terrific article with links about Grant Jozefek, who should arrive in 2016. http://www.lincolnstarsblog.com/

Lincoln is the team that gave us Kevin Roy, ZAR, DAX and Sauce.

The writer seems to be an NU fan and does a great job with this blog. He'll make it easy to follow Jozefek's progress.

When are the other two kids that are coming in this year gonna sign or be anounced?

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014 Offseason: Resurrection's Over....Now What?

if they haven't been announced yet, that means they aren't getting scholarship money this year and NCAA rules preclude the staff from from talking about them until the first day of classes.

Expect the other gentleman to be announced by the end of this week or very early next week.

Well, was the Foley situation made clearer for everybody with the announcement of Tortorella leaving his job at UNH?

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014 Offseason: Resurrection's Over....Now What?

He's a player I believe will be even better once he arrives at NU

Sounds like a real nice get. What year would he be slated to arrive? 2016?

Edit: Mark Divver of The Providence Journal says that PC, UConn, and Maine were also high on Armstrong's list.

Well, I guess it wasn't as simple as I assumed it might be. Still, the dominoes of this situation, with a succession of staff openings at D1 schools this close to the start to the season, is unique and interesting to watch unfold.

Foley is heading in another direction.. career nothing to do with hockey. Leave it at that & best to him.
