Totally disagree. If the player is receiving a scholarship based on grades then I think that the players poor play on the ice should not mean the loss of the scholarship. If the scholarship is a hockey scholarship based on his ability to play hockey then I think it is absolutely fair game to revoke that scholarship to make room for someone who can produce.
I am fine with that. I dont want us cutting scholarship guys because things do not work out ON THE ICE. Off to me if fair game. But even a guy like DD or Murty, you can tell him he is not going to play anymore, and he can make a decision based on that. And most of the fringe guys dont have $$ anyway. Basically replacing one fringe guy with another.
