Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!

Heading up Tuesday for the game, what are my chances of showing up at the Camden St. lot and getting a parking spot around 5:30? If not, the garage next door? There doesn't seem to be many tix sold for the game, so i would think that Camden would be the best place to try first. Appreciate any help and will reciprocate if NU comes down in 2016. Looking forward to a good game between two surging teams! BTW which end does NU shoot twice?

Welcome back to Matthews Arena (It may have been called the Boston Arena when Yale last visited). You may want to try the first row of the balcony as it offers a terrific view of the game. Yale will be the best team we've played in about a month and should be real challenge for us. If we get the first goal, it should be a good game. If Yale gets it, uh oh.

It will also be great to see Jason Guerriero again. If he is as good as an AC as he was as a player, you have a real asset. He was a delight to watch on the ice.

My guess is you should be OK although the parking lot attendants are said to be on work-release from bu so you never know. :D

I believe they met in 1995 @ Matthews Arena.. NU won 3-1. I don't see us pulling this off tonight.. hopefully we can keep it competitive with Witt in net.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!

I got there at 5:30 for this weekends game and was able to park on the street about 50 feet from the entrance. If you drive around St. Botolph / Mass Ave, arriving at that time I am sure you will be successful. There are also a number of paid lots.

In terms of seating I wanted to see the visitors attack twice (almost all goals were at the opposite end on the weekend), section 27 or 28 is good for the visitors.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!

Is Witt hurt?

I'd imagine they're just keeping him well rested since non-Beanpot nonconference games are basically meaningless to us at this point, we're only making NCAA's if we win Hockey East. Plus Roy played well Saturday, so it's not like they completely quit on the game. I'll take a fresh Witt standing on his head Friday night, I'm sure we'll need it.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!

wow.. no quit in this group right now.
down 0-2 (again) .. come up 3-2.

huge.
legit.

think we were overlooked by a very good team.. just take it. way to go Huskies.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!

Nice job in another come form behind win. Wish these 3 home games counted for league points. I did not attend, too cold. LOL! I did stream it though. However, this may now be the hottest team in college hockey. We will see what they are made of this weekend with the BC games home and away. Nice job tonight between the pipes by Roy for a 2nd good night in a row and win #2. Also K Roy looks much better than he did early this season. Who knows, hockey is a streaky game and these boys could peak at the right time. I cant say if coaching has anything to do with it but whatever is going on they seem to be playing with confidence and that can get you pretty far. Way to go HUSKIES!

That was my thinking just wanted to be sure.

Nice win. They fought hard in an empty barn on a Tuesday night against an OOC team. That shows something. This weekend is huge to determine if this was just a nice run of OOC games or something more.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!

Nice barn! Yale gave that one away pitifully, seemed like they got complacent after a two goal lead. A little hockey East reffing at the end and there is your game. Good luck the rest of the way and thanks for the advice! Found a street spot right on camden,

Copied from my post on dhd

This team is officially on fire. The comeback kids! Great to see the resiliency they are showing. Derick played great, had a couple highlight reel saves to keep Yale of off of the board more. Kevin also is heading up at the right time. Also thought Benning, Reid, NStevens all had strong games.

JM said in his post game presser that he started Roy because he played well on Saturday, hadn't played back-to-back in a while, and with 5 games in 9 days, it 'rivals an NHL schedule.' Kinda what I figured. I expect Witt both games vs the Beagles.

Huge 4 points on the line now. BC is beatable, no word yet on their dman Santini. Students should turn out pretty well for the DogHouse, NUin kids plus all the people on this cycle of co-op. This should be a lot of fun.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!

As I stated earlier this team is getting better due to some significant improvements such as ( defensive zone play, forwards playing a more defensive disciplined game, puck luck which we has none the 1st 9 games. However most of all a belief, all of do not have to drink perfusely everytime Witt is now not in net. Or if our big guns don't light the lamp. We see a balanced attack (yes) les by K Roy but we have many others contributing. It's awesome to see the PP do so well, however there is room for allot more improvement I don not believe that they have peaked, I believe that they have allot more room to improve and I see this team improving. As I stayed earlier this will be a very interesting 2nd half.

hockey east gms.. that will tell us if we've turned the corner..

that or just miraculously win the 'Pot & call it a year :-)

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!

One negative from last night...Saucerman. Trying to break out with passes in front of his own net, bad pinches and losing countless 50/50 battles behind his own net. He tries to play like Erik Karlsson/Mike Green and it just doesn't work. I like his offensive game, it's too late now, but he probably should have been moved to wing a year or two ago. With the rest of the D playing better, he stuck out like a sore thumb.

On a better note, I thought McMurtry played his best game as a Husky. Limited the turnovers, won battles down low, sprung a few odd-man opportunities with break-out passes and was ultimately rewarded with the GWG.
