Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Great games for NU in the last couple weekends! For a westerner who unfortunately doesn't get to see them, are they playing a drastically different style than they did under Cronin, thus needing time to adjust to a new system under Madigan? Whatever it is, keep it up!!

Certainly more offensive freedom than before. Last season we would've tried to sit on that lead. Madigan is no dummy, you have to keep the pedal to the metal. I think the biggest reason for our streak is the line combinations are finally where they should be.

Well said....SkinsFan09..so On target!

It' was a poor feed but I hooked the lap top up to my TV.. it wasn't too bad. Nice win, Nice job Hiskies and Coach M, but 4 stars to CW..he was the differance tonight. If you saw it, 3 stright road wins agains the CCHA, I can't recall and in looking the records, that this has ever happened before, and Merrimack lost again to PC. It looks like we are going to be in it and since MMc has been sidelined I think Quailer has been lights out looking like a HABS top draft pick and a on ice leader! Let's enjoy this week! See you all the UMASS - LOWELL game. Who thinks they get ranked this week?

Dear Huskies Hockey,

Let's face the facts: you're a tease. You always have been. And I'm not talking about the good kind of tease where you think "alright, this is going somewhere (giggity)!" I'm talking about the type of tease which I can only equate to that stripper I had in Vegas who got way too comfortable after a few dances and started talking about her life's goal of becoming an acclaimed children's author (Man down! Man down!). Please don't let this edition of NU hockey turn into the latter! I don't think my old-man heart can take much more. This was an amazing weekend in which you proved many (including myself, admittedly) dead wrong on the make-up of this team. For three straight weekends we've seen a team with offensive power emerge while maintaining the NU staple of strong defensive play. I can't even begin to say how exciting it has been to follow this team for the past few weeks, especially after attending nine of the first twelve games and only seeing two wins. Please, please, please keep up with this work ethic and level of execution. Your fans appreciate it!

Michigan is 8-8-2. We are 6-7-2. We just murdered Michigan at their place. We will be close but I think we'll need to win.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Oh and Hendrickson, keep talking about the "no-brainers." Lol. Clown.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Nice weekend NU!!!!! Perhaps Gudreau should rethink his defection.......

Don't care about Gaudreau. Best freshman in H.E. is wearing #45.

Northeastern at Notre Dame
Jim’s pick: The Huskies are playing well, but I don’t see them getting a win in South Bend.
ND 3, NU 1
Dave’s pick: Agreed. The Irish are just too tough.
ND 4, NU1

Northeastern at Notre Dame
Jim’s pick: NU needs the wins but Notre Dame isn’t the right place to get them.
ND 5, NU 2
Dave’s pick: Another no-brainer. Can’t see this game being close.
ND 4, NU 1

LOL, love it.

Exactly. I'm glad we're in agreement.

I'll take Karlsson unless Wilson gets the '94 Fedorov advantage (great defensive forward). I wouldn't know, I don't watch UML games.

hey, we're all happy with our freshmen.. nothing wrong with that :)

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Every part of that statement is absurd.

Great addition to the discussion. The point is, I'll take Karlsson unless Wilson is a great two-way forward (Selke) which I would not be aware of since I don't see UMass-Lowell games outside of highlights. Sorry you couldn't make that connection.

As far how much better I think either is, I'm just giving #45 the homer pick.

Incredible weekend. Best roadtrip I've had at NU on & off the ice.

Proud of this team and I can't wait for UML this weekend. Should be a real good one.

Perfectly fair point.
