Well, they are the highest scoring team in the country at the moment.Say what you want about polls not mattering, but NU has moved up to #19 in the USCHO poll. Sandwiched between bu at 18 and Duluth and 20. Good to see the team's efforts being rewarded.

Cody Ferriero suspended two games for slashing incident at St. Lawrence.
#19 on the USCHO rankings,a 5-1 record, and the highest scoring team in the country!,is this really happening? ok,you can burst my bubble if you want but you cant take my devotion to the team,I'm used to the hardship and difficult years as a fan,but it's fun to have some good games,I'm not blind to reality, but it's nice to see the team (and the university) have some success.
Most everyone knows Friday's game is on national TV http://www.uscho.com/team/northeastern/-whats even cooler is Dave Goucher (voice of the Boston Bruins and NBCSN) is doing the gamecall
..There's at least 4 PIM bc won't see now.

What did Ferrioro do? Slash somebody in the head or something?
Lets put this into perspective for a moment. The first 4 wins was against a bunch of orange traffic cones. This past weekend was more telling. It was a pretty even matchup, but the holes that we knew were there popped up. For long stretches of games they barely saw the puck, the PK was horrible, the guys on defense who cannot skate got exposed, and they spent what seemed like half of each game in the penalty box.
All we learned from this team so far is they go to the net hard, and they play really well against the worst of the worst in college hockey.
Then the refs called a penalty on NU for delay of game or something with the late changes, later someone mentined that it was because the net kept coming off the pegs. By the way, that is how BU has been playing hockey for decades and getting away with it. Make late changes and then blatently knock the net off when they know that D is out of position and/or the goalie is in trouble......Anyway..... We get called for that penalty which now exacerbates the problem.
Finally, I think they decided that it would be too embarassing for them to look at some video footage to tell who was on the ice at the time of the icing so they just went ahead with the faceoff.
If a team and a bench get out of control over refs doing their job, then there is a problem on (captains) and behind the bench (Madigan).
If you take the time to review who is on the ice for a faceoff, you've already ruined everything and let the 5 guys rest that WERE on the ice. Pointless.
