Northeastern at UNH - 10/23/09

Re: Northeastern at UNH - 10/23/09

For those listening on the radio, why does every girl with a New Hampshire accent sound unbelievably cute? :)

New Hampster has an accent?

Yeah, they've actually gotten a lot better the last couple of years, with a band director that's a big fan of the game. They did show them in the background as they went to intermisison break spelling UNH on the ice (as far as I know, it was spelled correctly.. AND in key ;) )

So they're spelling it U-H-N ? :D

Re: Northeastern at UNH - 10/23/09

What a pleasant surprise to discover a televised game. What I saw:
UNH scored the first goal. They didn't carry the play, nor was there a lot of great play-making by either team, but UNH put NU in a hole with that first score. Now UNH must play positional hockey, get the second goal, force NU to open up (if they have that capability), and take advantage of NU's defensive shortcomings.
As usual, but to an even greater and more alarming extent than expected, UNH's power play is execrable.
I did enjoy the clean play, the occasional body check, and the lack of penalties.

Bill, if you check out the schedule, a list of all televised games is there... in case you don't want to be surprised again :D

NU 0 UNH 1, Period 2

NU 0 UNH 1, Period 2

They said Butler had the other assist on that goal, not LeBlanc? Guess I missed it, been in and out of the room during the intermission.

Game back on!

Re: Northeastern at UNH - 10/23/09

Second period underway.

LET'S GO CATS!!!

UNH scores!!! SPEELMAN WITH HIS SECOND GOAL TO MAKE IT 2-0 CATS!!!

Re: Northeastern at UNH - 10/23/09

That was just too much intensity too early in the period for a flat-footed NU squad.

NU 0 UNH 2, Period 2

NU 0 UNH 2, Period 2

Speelman got dumped after he swiped at it, there were 2 UNHer's there hacking at it. Nice!

Goal came just 24 seconds into the period.

NU 0 UNH 2, Period 2

NU 0 UNH 2, Period 2

18:44 left, puck out of play.

It was in face Speelman, Butler got the assist on the goal. LeBlanc was the other UNHer in front of the net.

NU 0 UNH 2, Period 2

NU 0 UNH 2, Period 2

Some sort of ice issue that they're working on, bringing some slush out to try and patch it up.

NU 0 UNH 2, Period 2

NU 0 UNH 2, Period 2

Getting back to the game now after the gash is repaired near Rawlings' crease.

Add an assist to LeBlanc on that 2nd Speelman goal.
