Northeastern 2025-26: After Hours at the Old Barn

There were a few times that I skipped school lunch and saved the money for a box of those fries while watching the City League games. They were so good.

There is talk on the BU board about trying to prevent Todd Angilly from entering Matthews on Saturday to sing the anthem. Sounds like they are pretty nervous!

Personally, I’d love to hear the big fella sing!
Not nervous. Resigned to our fate. Enjoy closing your building in style.

If you wanna be within 10 blocks of arena - Five Horses Tavern, The Westland, Woody's, Boston Burger Company.
Or plenty of options on Newbury St, more ethnic options down Mass Ave past Westland, at Colonnade, or the Westin hotel sports bar upstairs.

I second Five Horses Tavern. I pre-gamed there before the November 21st game. Cool place.

LOL yeah, we're trying to prevent him from singing. Right sure. Give me a minute as my eyeballs have rolled ALL THE WAY out of my head. :ROFLMAO:

We're not nervous. We're resigned to the fact this will not end well and having him sing the anthem when BU pretty much puts the nail in the coffin.

Bummed I couldn't get a ticket!! I'll miss going to Matthews.

Bummer that Punter's, Connor's, Our House, Lobster Claw/Plunkett's/Huskies/Uno's, and others are long gone. Pre-game/post-game at those places--all well within 10 blocks--was part of the Matthews charm.

Aw man, they should’ve done a Punter’s Pub Pop Up for the weekend!

Maybe during the 3rd period, the two schools' fans should get together and chant the infamous BU chant for BC. That would be a fitting ending to the building.

And, of course, Lucy pulled the puck away in the final two minutes to give NU perhaps its most gut-wrenching loss in 115 years of gut-wrenching losses. This hurts beyond belief. Going with only four defensemen caught up with them. They were obviously gassed at the end. Lemay's extended stay on the IL isn't helping.

OTOH, multitudes of kudos to everyone involved in the closing ceremony. A dignified way to kiss the old lady goodbye one final time.

We stayed for the ceremony, which was pretty cool.

Mookie did tell they boys when the scoreboard was reading “stay for a special ceremony “, that we had just seen the special ceremony 😝😝
Was a tough beat.
Got a chuckle out of madigan looking back and telling the guys “you’ll get another crack at then in February.”🤔🙄

Ended up at the bar at Boston Burger.
Everything else was banged out.
The hostess at the Westland actually laughed at us.
