..i think he may have thought guy was going to pass it up to the slot in front of him (just a guess). Regardless.. our D was non existent at the back door either. He is a freshman & he'll want that back. He is not the reason we lost that game. Team also needs to score. Huskies did not get a decent shot on net during 5x5 or on the PP. Lots of drop passes at ctr ice, however. What a joke! Comes down to systems.
Better team (better coached team that is..) ..won.
NU hockey under Jim Madigan, DOA.
I feel for the kids. They have the talent but the coaching flat out sucks. Do the right thing JM, (sooner rather than later).. do not be selfish.. resign.
Anyway, maybe we'll do better on another continent.

Funny thing is it is actually -14, but the official scorer pinned the last Vermont goal in the second game on K. Roy (#15) instead of #5 and it was never corrected. K. Roy's had a tough season all on his own so far, so he shouldn't have to suffer even more due to a nearsighted official scorer.

I disagree on Ruck. I was out the game with my older son who played goalie in the EHL for a few season's and he thinks the kid is all over the place and I agree. He does not square up well and looks lost in the net under pressure. The wrap around was a poor goal. Also, the on 1st goal he guessed wrong, he guesses wrong a lot. He also nearly let one in form center ice on a bounce and also took a shot from the blue line off the mask, that I am convinced he didn't see.
Although, what does it really matter how many goeals he gives up when the team doesn’t score any goals? LOL! It is what it is. Truth be told, I don’t want them to win anymore either. At this point, we need this to be the most embarrassing season in the history of the program to set the wheels in motion to get JM relieved of his duties. He is pathetic, the entire staff needs to go. We had talented assistants like McEachern too and we let them go. Rivers Hockey had been an ISL joke for decades and have now won the league title, in what is arguably one of the best HS hockey leagues in the nation 2x during his short tenure at the helm. I was anti JM from the begining and alot of you jumped all over me. Everyone says how nice a guy he is. One thing seems to hold true, nice guys finish last.

I agree both ways. Ruck has been solid and hasn't given away games like Roy or Rawlings would have, but he also hasn't won any either. He's out of of position, especially after an initial save or blocked shot, a lot. I've been standing in section 44 and had him facing me in the stands while the puck is still in play behind him more than once. Hopefully it's something that can be coached out of him. He's our goalie until Cayden gets here at this point, gotta get what we can out of him.
The coaching is garbage, but we all know that. The drop pass is a joke. Most of our zone entires in general are a joke. Once we're in the zone we grind along the boards with no offensive threat until the puck gets taken away. But the biggest reason the coaching sucks is as simple as it is infuriating. We have the best player in the country. If you want to argue he's not #1, he's certainly near the top of the list. We do absolutely nothing to let him shine. We don't gameplan for him. We just played two games without him and I didn't miss him. Nothing was different. We play the exact same game with him as we do without him. You could interchange him with Nathan Ferriero and Jim would send him out there to do the exact same thing, the only difference is Kevin's ability to make something out of nothing.

I can't believe they're selling tickets only as a package deal. I'll be at both the basketball and hockey games that Saturday but now have a ticket to the women's basketball game that I don't know what to do with.

With alumni like you, NU doesn't need any other detractors. Apparently you feel that the University exists primarily to sponsor its hockey team. Please try to reassess your priorities and attain the proper perspective.

No, it's not! If you support the University you shouldn't withhold your assistance to the institution simply because one of its athletic teams has disappointed you. That's "subway alumni" thinking. If you want to send a message, send a check to JM with a much smaller contribution (or none at all) to the Fern Flaman Fund and earmark 95% of your contribution to the Dean's Fund of the college you were graduated from. He will get your meaning.

Luckily i will not be sending anything JM's way until he holds the HC position.. and when I do, is directly to the School. But if i had to.. with NU athletics.. this is a good idea. Happy Thanksgiving my friend. Team aside, us & the U. has a lot to be thankful for.
A happy Thanksgiving to you all and to those you care about. Hopefully we Husky hockey fans can enjoy a wonderful three day holiday.

Sheesh .... UML just tied it at 2-2 on a PP with a 1:00 left. Don't understand why 3 NU players were clumped by the board leaving the middle wide open for the tieing goal. Now UML wins in OT. Good game by the Huskies though.

It's because this team is terrible when it comes to special teams. Three PPs for Lowell tonight, two goals against. Four PPs for NU, including a five minute major, one goal off a scramble in front when the goalie was out of position. As soon as Saucerman got beat and took that penalty I knew Lowell was going to tie it up. Saucerman stood out to me as having a particularly bad night.
Every year Madigan says that they are going to work on special teams and every year they are the death knell of this team.
The team is terrible at defense and while Ruck will make some saves, he will not steal you a game. While I thought the Huskies played better for 50 minutes of tonight's game, it was Lowell who capitalized on their opportunities.

Simple.. its because most D1 schools we play have a f'in D1 Coach.
