You guys will have a chance to beat whoever you play in the quarters (if you make it)
Take a look around the league. There isn't a great team.
Just curious. Would you rather:
A) a Beanpot win and not make the Hockey East Playoffs
B) Fourth place in the Beanpot but qualifying for the Hockey East Playoffs
The Beanpot. No doubt no question. Win it and it's something that can never be taken away, no matter how dismal the rest of the season.
On jjmc85's vote I would go with the Beanpot win, only because if they make the playoffs they probably wont go far,I would be thrilled with a Beanpot win.
I hope you get what you guys want. Lose Friday, win Monday. Everybody's happy!Beanpot easily, even if they make Hockey East Playoffs they aren't going deep in the conference tourney. Winning a Beanpot could be a major silver lining on a dismal year and winning a first Beanpot in 25 years would certainly be memorable, getting bounced as the 8 seed in the Hockey East Playoffs will not be memorable.

Sounds like a kid not going anywhere.
Is anyone a member or ex-member over at die hard dogs, if so is it worth it? 30 bucks seems a bit steep for a message board and some inside news.
Thoughts on the game:
1) Standard reffing for a Beanpot/BU game. While BU was able to haul people down, interfere, etc. NU was playing under women hockey rules. All three penalties in the late 2nd were not even close to being penalties.
2) Manson's hit was a trademark hit. It is the definition of a hip check. It should be used as a tool to coach it to future generations. The fact that it was called for boarding is insulting to all hockey fans.
3) That was the longest 20 minutes of hockey I have ever seen. The 3rd period was painful at times to watch. Everything that has ever been said about how USA felt in 1980, I now understand. It felt as though that every whistle, the clock had moved 3-4 seconds. While I'm extremely happy Rawlings made some key saves, we were lucky. We were trying to give that away. We completely collapsed and played a game that was just trying to hold on. BU just couldn't get that shot.
Who's to blame for this? Coaching. It's Madigan's job to continue to coach the team to play their game. We stopped that after the 2nd and he went into that locker room and told the team to hold on and survive 20 minutes.
4) Because of that coaching, Madigan is now 60 minutes away from a lifetime contract at NU.
5) Did anyone else think that during the review of the 3rd goal, there were people frantically flipping through the rulebook looking for anything they could use to disallow that goal?
6) The true Rawlings we know and love finally made an appearance on that last goal. Boy did he look like a new born deer trying to walk.
7) Anyone have 3-7 balcony tickets to sell?
They were gassed in the 3rd period, they pretty much played 2 forward lines and 4 d all night. The last 8 minutes they just held on. No depth. Are element and darou out for the season?
