Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

Re: Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

have you yet to encounter the mookie?

[this could be entertaining]

good hockey. BU obviously wants to be playing in the frozen four in Boston, and UMD isn't about to coast and give up. A lot less sloppy than last night's game.

Mookie has had beers with biddy :)

Duluth will enjoy Boston. Looks as though the terriers have plans in cancun that weekend

Good times!

Are you kidding? BU came to play, been a fantastic game. Can't wait for the third

Another tough game...UMD wants to pound us and score dirty goals. We have to break out of our own end and start skating. Showed signs of starting to flip the momentum at the end of the 2nd. Looking for conditioning to win it in the 3rd.

Time for BU to have another fantastic third period. Think they'll come out with confidence?

Re: Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

Three straight powerplays in two tied games in the last 5 minutes this weekend?

Re: Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

Tough call at the end since the puck was probably over the line before the whistle blew, but at least the rule book is clear on that. That goal against MSU-M was far more brutal. I'd hate to be a ref making those kinds of calls. BU will have home ice advantage now. A matchup against DU would be interesting because DU is also a third period team (going off memories, not facts/stats). Colorado teams always seem to have BC's number, would be interesting to see how BU would fare.

I was pretty pleased with UMD's composure. They had a bad habit of taking stupid penalties all year long but they kept focus in the tournament. Overall discipline between all teams has been good, except those greasy canucking UND whioux.

Well, now that hockey is pretty much done it's just a few weeks left before ski season comes to an end and I can stop being a worthless POS and be productive with my life once again..looking forward to it!

Bulldog fans -- that was fun hockey. You guys really dominated BU for a good chunk of the game. Awesome game.

Lowell's stories are what got me to register for this board.

Re: Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

That was a goal.

Coulda been, but the play was whistled dead without any sign that the puck had gone in. Even though it was in the net after all was said and done, they need conclusive video evidence of the puck going in which there was none. I mean I had maybe a 5% sliver of hope that they would come out of the box and call it a goal, but you knew that was just not going to happen. Would have been a different story if the referee would have signaled it a goal to begin with

And said ref was looking right down from behind the net signaling no-goal.

Exactly.

That might be the best college hockey game I've seen. Just a fun back and forth game between two good teams. sad we couldnt score a third goal or stop that PP on that questionable call.
Oh well congrats to BU. Proud to be a Bulldog!

That game was back and forth. Too entertaining (if y'all know what Mookie means).
