Northeast Regional: BC vs Denver, Lowell vs Mankato

Re: Northeast Regional: BC vs Denver, Lowell vs Mankato

HE teams are a combined 12-0-0 against the WCHA... Mankato doesn't stand a chance

To be fair I believe 5 of those 12 wins were against UAH.

I think Mankato can definitely win, but I like Lowell's chances more because I believe they have played a tougher schedule.

Lowell has played a tougher schedule, no doubt.

Minnesota State was swept by Providence in the first series of the year, as well. That was a different team without Zach Lehrke, and was the start of a complete collapse by Stephon Williams. The outcome may not have changed, who knows. But it's been a long time since that series, that's for sure.

For sake of accuracy, it was 2 of 12 against UAH, but still likely a less difficult schedule that Lowell.

Re: Northeast Regional: BC vs Denver, Lowell vs Mankato

Plainly stated, Lowell has the best goaltender in the country. I have no qualms about making that claim. Some may disagree, and that's fine; everyone has a right to be wrong if they want to.

.

0-1 against Sacred Heart. I don't remember Roloson doing that.
lost to a few other non-NCAA tourney teams as well. Great goaltenders don't do that 4 times in a season, do they?

****ty goaltenders don't toss double-shutouts in the conference finals either. Go away, Troll, your mommy is calling you.

Yeah, I have to admit you're right. Hellebuyck's not great. Hell, he might not even be that good.

Re: Northeast Regional: BC vs Denver, Lowell vs Mankato

We already know what Lowell brings to the table. Now this.
Things aren't looking so good for the Eagles. :(

Agreed.

Might just save the $$ on tickets and pass on Worcester this year :(

i'm with you :o

Ha. Ha ha ha. BWAH HA HA HA HA!!! *wipes tear* You guys are so funny!!

Wait......wait.....you aren't actually serious are you? These posts are your sandbagging attempts, right? Because, with all due respect to Lowell, you will not only get out of this region but most likely win.

And Lowell fans, you know I love you. But a) I want you to win, so that's one strike; b) I may actually be in attendance and that's never a good sign for anyone, including my Terriers - strike 2 and c) if I do go I will be bringing my niece who is a UML sophomore. She's been to two games this year - the Sacred Heart game and your last loss (can't recall who it was against. Strike numero 3. Though....it could be third times a charm. She's a huge hockey fan and wants to go badly. Who am I to say no?? I need a college hockey fix. :)

Make it out to the bar pre-game, I might even buy you a drink!

Re: Northeast Regional: BC vs Denver, Lowell vs Mankato

Yes, Denver is just happy to be here. DU had a bad season. With the coaching change, real attempt to kill off Boone once and for all, whispers of monetary issues since the Presidential Debate, key players jumping to the pros, etc, the team has had period of chaos. I know anything and everything had a role in the poor season DU had. Hell, maybe shutting down the Let's Go DU blog once and for all had something to do with it. They had one chance to make it to a regional, and they did it. Kudos for Miami to finishing the season strong, and giving the rest of the NCHC a run for their money. Most Denver fans do have a permagrin on their faces right now. Good for the boys.

Denver has arguably one of the best goaltenders playing now. If he plays at what has been his normal condition, he will be difficult to score against. Brittain has a save percentage of .932. DU has less shots on goal than their opponent, especially in the third period. Brittain still has a save percentage of .932. I am not happy with the defense playing in front of him. I am also unhappy with Denver's penalty kill.

Of the forwards to watch, the three who played extremely well this last weekend, and played well since the CC debacle, are #12 Loney, #16 Larazza and #19 Doremus. Also be wary of #8 Moore, who is a +17 with 31 points, best of the team. If two of those four play well, I think Denver is competitive. Denver also needs solid play from any one of the defensemen #4 Didier, #11 Zajac, and #21 LaLeggia. #10 Makowski is really good on the power play, but himself needs to stay out of box.

Actually, I think you misread the quote. JCarter referenced Hockey East's 12-0-0 NC record against WCHA teams this year. Notre Dame played and beat UAH three times and Northeastern played and beat them twice. I think you may have thought I was referring to Mankato's win streak?

pfft... if Hellebuyck were playing out west, he'd have a .995 save %. Don't let these Lowell fans fool ya.

Re: Northeast Regional: BC vs Denver, Lowell vs Mankato

Just got an email from info(at)dcucenter(dot)com that said individual day admission tickets are available for $47.50. The two day tickets are $85. Wish I had known that was going to happen.

And if he always got to play at the Garden, he'd have a 0.25 GAA
