I actually voted in the link provided to do so. I posted this idea previously, in another thread. I submitted "Threshers" since North Dakota is the 2nd largest wheat producing state in the country. If Nebraska can be the Cornhuskers, you guys can be the Threshers. It sounds somewhat "ominous" or "fear-inducing", has a historical basis in fact, and, hell, maybe you could have a thresher shark as the actual mascot as opposed to something like the mutated gourd that is "Herbie Husker".

Problem is here, no matter what the committee comes up with, it will take a back seat to Fighting Sioux for a generation or so, but, this IS going to happen and you guys need to resign yourselves to it.

If Hakstol should happen to lose the title game to UNO this Saturday night, then maybe "the Blazers" might be more in order with a "gap-toothed wonder" as the official mascot. :D

It will take more than a generation and many on the secondary market still make or will make Fighting Sioux apparel.

I hope it NEVER happens. Nobody has to resign themselves to anything, except cowards and lemmings. Everyone laughs at the New Hampshire license plate slogan, "Live Free or Die." I hope I DO die before the world becomes what I am seeing it starting to become...I hope BU wins Thursday, but I respect the fervor demonstrated by the Sioux faithful.
