North Dakota Offseason Thread

Sorry, officer. This is the offseason, though. There isn't much else to talk about. If you don't like this discussion, which BTW has taken up a whole 13 posts, then you can move on.

I never said they are bad kids or should be locked up. I am just saying they are idiots. Most teams probably have a couple.

If they don't realize they can lose scholarship money and get punished internally as well they are idiots. The risk reward spectrum does change when cute girls are involved though.

Canadians can drink legally when they turn 18. Can't they just give them a warning for the first offence if they are Canadian. After all they are just hockey players, not law students. How are they supposed to learn US laws without some sort of warning?

Re: North Dakota Offseason Thread

Anyone who plays hockey (except the Gophers) should read the following quote from Jonathan Toews.

“It was nice to set the (NHL point streak) record but it’s nothing more than that. We’ve matured from where we were last year,” Toews said. “We understand it’s a lot of fun to go out there and play tight games and win every single night. That’s more fulfilling, to go out there and play a team game and do the little things right and go away with two points instead of hoping for offense and trying to beat teams by scoring goals.

“Most of all, when we win a game we’re not satisfied. We go into the next one with an even better work ethic, conscious of what we can do better.”

Gage Ausmus announces he will be coming to North Dakota this fall....

Ausmus decommitted from Denver when Gwoz was fired.

Re: North Dakota Offseason Thread

That's a pretty big get for UND. They were lacking that defensive-dman with the losses of MacWilliam and Forbort.

It will be interesting to see if Stecher, Thompson, LaDue and Ausmus all come in next year.

Thompson hurried his education so he should only be a HS senior next year. Maybe spends a year in juniors?

Wouldn't surprise me. We lost Mac, Forbort, and Gleason...and Panzarella was our only extra defensman last year.

That would give us 8 defensmen with Simpson, Schmaltz, Mattson, Panzarella, Stecher, Thompson, LaDue, and Ausmus, I believe.

Hak over recruits and then pulls the offer to the guy who had the lowest production.
Pretty low if you ask me, but I wouldn't expect anything else from a guy who flips off refs. #Classy

Hope potential recruits take notice.
Sorry Crisfield, but you should have known better then to think Hak would honor your scholly. He dumped you fast when a better option opened up.

Ryan Walters would like to talk to you about your poor trolling attempt.

If Crisfield was offered any scholarship, it was an extremely small one. Even before Ausmus committed, Crisfield probably never would have played regular minutes at UND. Who says Hakstol didn't want him to come? Maybe Crisfield saw the writing on the wall and decided to look elsewhere? Either way, it is better for both parties. What is the point of coming to a school where you are never going to play?

Crisfield didn't develop, plain and simple. The same thing happened to Danny Mattson, Hakstol said he could still play at UND, but Mattson realized he would get very limited minutes at UND, and decided to rescind his commitment. Players don't develop, it happens.

I believe that is copyright infringement and is against the boards TOA. Honestly, just a friendly warning so you don't get in trouble.

I'm sure I'll be able to get to the safe house once I hear the barking dogs coming for me. You look great in red by the way!
