That's 20 minutes in the books. Minnesota has the 1-0 lead, but North Dakota had the better of play. Should be another interesting 40 (+?) minutes.

END 1: Gophers 1 - North Dakota 0 Mike Szmatula's power play goal is the difference in what has been an even first period. Shots 10-9 MN.

Even period? You have got to be kidding yourself.

And the SOG stats are a joke, and you know it. They counted one SOG for Minnesota that was a deflected puck that Cam gloved just shy of the far circle...it was nowhere near the net. They also failed to count a handful of SOG that North Dakota had, including a nice save by Minnesota's goalie in the waning seconds of the first period. Thinking the SOG in this game are accurate are akin to believing the internet polls following the debates that showed Trump won by a landslide. Delusional.

"This building is absolutely sold out to the armpits" :p:D:D That was pretty funny. Rink is probably only 80% full, with a good showing by North Dakota fans. I thought Minnesota was the state of hockey?

Novak finds Sheehy in front but he puts it just wide of the cage. Two minutes gone in the second.

Four minutes into the second, and a pretty open period. Both teams with Grade A chances, but nothing to show for it.

Minnesota with a very strong shift with a couple of nice chances, but unable to really got good wood on a shot.

Gersich with a shot from the top of the far circle, gloved by the Gopher Goalie...but no SOG. It really is unbelievable how bad the stat tracker is at his/her job.
