North Dakota @ Minnesota 11/4/11

Re: North Dakota @ Minnesota 11/4/11

UND is a bit sloppy with the puck on the PP - they gave up a lot of SH chances and are very lucky to not have given up any goals as a result. If they want better chances, they should probably look to work the puck deep and try to hit a guy streaking down the slot. Perimeter shots aren't going to work very well because they give MN's defense time to get set and take away the shooting lanes.

Agreed. However, what you've seen thus far from our powerplay is how we've played with the man advantage the entire year. Even last week when we had a full 2:00 of 5x3 followed by 3:00 of 5x4, we just launched shots (usually wide) from the point. It's frustrating, but I'm afraid we just don't have enough playmakers at this point in time to really do anything different.

;) I stated he deserved the penalty. Of course I'm also not continuously claiming the Gophers are gooning it up and complaining. just saying

It worked out the way it should, so I don't really care. The boys are being aggressive and i wouldn't have it any other way.

And MN needs to continue to shorten the passing game, unlike in the first, where it gave the Sue a ton of chances to disrupt the flow of MN's offense.

Not sure what the call was. I don't think it was a penalty, either way.

If you're basing everything on the perimeter, you either have to move the puck around faster (to get an open shooting lane), or you have to attempt a shot-pass to set up chances at the side of he net.

Call was on Bjugstad for boarding. Iffy.

Re: North Dakota @ Minnesota 11/4/11

Boarding? Weak. He barely touched him. Methinks the refs are going to call everything, due to the 2nd. We'll have to wait and see.

Re: North Dakota @ Minnesota 11/4/11

He flew into those boards awfully hard compared to the effort Bjugstad put in. I know Nick is strong but...
