NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

MMFF steals souls and MacWilliam eats hearts. acs64 is the only Maine fan with his head on straight instead of up his arse.

Frankly, it would be easier to tell you which ones aren't goons. The Sioux are mostly mediocre or a little above average players, and no real star player. So they have to rough up other teams, and sometimes referees.

Actually I would say just the opposite, the Sioux kind of played very well and out skated the Beavers this past weekend. There wasn't a lot of hitting this past weekend.

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

Speaking of hitting, Nyquist is going to be Humpty Dumpty by Saturday night after Blood, MacWilliam and Rodwell are done with him. All of Tim's horses and all of Tim's men won't be able to put Nyquist back together again.

Anyone ever wonder what exactly the horses tried to do? No opposable thumbs had to make things difficult. Unless the horses were killed so their hooves could be made into glue, I really fail to see how they could contribute anything to Operation Fix Humpty.

You can always trust dirty to make the cogent observation.

PS. Keep all lawnmowers away from Frattin. :D

no, he had a little issue with getting suspended from the team... he was last seen not getting an invite to the coyotes preseason camp...

He may have been talking about Ben Bishop. Since he was in goal the last time Maine played NoDak.

acs was at the beech, shoveling that fine, grainy soil into bags.

You Maineuhs should know better.

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

Don't tell me he didn't make you think about it...

And that's the important thing. Thinking about it. It's going to stick in your mind and you'll ponder it for weeks. Because my questions are that thought provoking.

Sioux Sweep. Nyquist Dumpty has a great fall.

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

No one really. Nyquist is the entire show and he's been skiddish at best. You know, trying to live up to the reputation they put on his shoulders. Defense is porous, goalies are all still in their diapers, forwards are undrafted and the coach cant coach. But one thing else for sure, the refs will call everything, so be prepared to be on the PK for long stretches at a time, especially if those Fighting Sue get nasty. :)

no one really? Nyquist is obviously our best player but show some respect to the players who have actually done something this year. The entire second line has accounted for 10 of the 17 goals Maine has scored this season compared to 4 goals for the first line. So Abbott (4g 3a) Dee (3g 2a) and Diamond (3g 2a) might be worth mentioning.

Gusfor ... with all due respect, pull out your dictionary and look up 1) sandbagging and 2) sarcasm.

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

Here's a question for the locals ... where do the "more mature crowd" (e.g. non-students!) hangout after the game? My last forays into downtown Orono were a little loud and crowded for post game conversations. I was considering the SeaDog but that's a little out of the way. Any suggestions?

In downtown Orono I prefer Woodman's. If you can get there early for dinner DO IT! But it's a good mix of young and old which is perfect for me since I'm not a student but not quite an old fart. It has a small bar, some tables and a pool table. The tap room (downstairs) of Pat's Pizza should be full of fans who were just watching the game on TV. Get the waffle fries.

If you're coming from the north you could try the City Park Grille in Old Town on your way home. I've never been but I hear many good things.

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

This weekend is when my optimism for this season dies. :p:o

Haven't had an Alfond potato in years, though. So at least there's that.

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

who is sandbagging more in this thread?

To be fair, we should dominate them in sandbagging...

or I suppose I should phrase that this way...

They're killing us in sandbagging, we don't even know what a sandbag is let alone know how to use it. :)

I think I read on another thread that CBS College Sports is available on Time Warner's Sports Pak but I was wondering if anyone knew of bars/restaurants in the Waterville area that have the Time Warner's Sports Pak?
