Well, for me I'm kind of happy. The Brewer game might not be over by the time the hockey game starts, now I won't have to miss a minute of action.

Frick, really? At least I can listen to the game via the internet, maybe I'll put the tUMD/Notre Dame one on TV instead.

Re: NMU @ Wisconsin Oct. 7 & 8 - Let's Kick the Tires and Light the Fires....

The two times I went to Madison to watch NMU, we had a good time on State Street. A great atmosphere. I had my first Spotted Cow at State St. Brats. My beer drinking life will never be the same.
Amen to that, it doesnt get much better than cow. Its just a shame that New Glarus doesnt sell this beer outside of Wisconsin so that the rest of the world can experience the perfection that is Spotted Cow.

Re: NMU @ Wisconsin Oct. 7 & 8 - Let's Kick the Tires and Light the Fires....

As I am about to set out on my journey to Madison, I'm not sure how to feel about this team... I feel as if I might be expecting too much from this team, but I feel like the potential is there.... This team feels like the 09-10 team... One that will grow as the season progresses and should be able to make an impact in March... That is a long ways off however, and a lot can happen (and usually does :o)...

Anyways, time for me to set out... If anyone wants to stop by and say "Hi", I'll be standing out like a sore thumb in Section 101 tonight and 201 tomorrow... Looking forward to seeing what the Kohl Center is all about :p It's time to kick the tires and light the fires!!!

GO CATS! GO CATS! GO CATS GO!!!

Thank the Wisconsin legislature for that.

With the new law they passed recently, you'll be lucky to see craft beer from Wisconsin anywhere outside of the brewery.

Peterson in goal tonight and Rumpel on Saturday per Baggot.

Anyone know what channel the game will be on for those of us with Dish Network? If I remember from last year, they use 436 FOXN as a mixture of Fox Sports MN and Fox Sports WI. Right now the guide is showing the Goofer game on 436, but I don't see Brewers Live or the Badger game on any channel.

Wondering the same myself. Post if you find out.

Edit: My guide shows 444 for the badger game

That is just not true as far as the Wisconsin legislature being the reason you cannot get New Glarus outside of Wisconsin. I work in the craft brew business and know Daniel and Deb Carey personally. It has always been their intention to limit sales of their beer to the state of Wisconsin. They do not want to deal with getting bigger and producing more. They instead want to produce high quality craft beer.

Here is an article expounding on this a little: http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/inde...ine/NewsID/109

You are right when you say that the State legislature is going to make it more difficult for small breweries... we are already feeling the early onset of that. Try to keep your facts straight rather than making blind assumptions.

Also, GO CATS!

It is partially true. With the problems they had with distribution of their beer due to a change of ownership with the company that distributed their beer prior to them stopping distributing to outside Wisconsin. (They distributed to Illinois until 2002.)

I may have been a little exaggerative in saying it is the Wisconsin legislator's fault, but if they ever wanted to distribute their beer outside of Wisconsin again it would very, very difficult because of the law.

(Note: I'm an MBA student at Marquette U, and did my undergrad work at NMU. I have worked on different research projects for the past two years on the craft brewing industry, and its correlation between sales and word of mouth communication. I actually do know quite a bit about the industry despite the hyperbole in my comment.)

Right on. Was it the same distributor Bell's had issues with a few years back? Also, through your studies/research, do you see any options for craft brewers in Wisconsin. The current Governor is a giant ******. The majority of his administration as well.

In other news... Cats are doing well. A lot of flipping penalties though. Wish I could see this on TV. Just upgraded my DishTV packages. FYI... gave will be shown online in a few minutes. Google Wisconsin TV. It will also be shown tomorrow night. Should be live then.

Way to overcome adversity Cats!!!

Big goal for Seckel and solid game for Thurber. Sounded like Ellingson was solid too.

Can't validate it on WCHA or CCHA websites, BUT the NMU site says the Cats beat Wisconsin 3-2 ! It's been a great night!
