NMU Wildcats 2014-2015

Re: NMU Wildcats 2014-2015

It does! I'm intrigued by the piping on the sides, but overall it looks great!

I need to try and get one of these.

Me too...looks like it's just green under there but who knows. I'll see those bad boys in Feb in Duluth.

Re: NMU Wildcats 2014-2015

I'm very happy to see the NMU script return to the front of the jersey for two reasons
1) last time I checked, our brand isn't too iconic outside of Marquette Country. Henceforth, the drooling masses that see pics of the team might actually discern who the generic "Wildcats" are. Also being mistaken for UNH is never good.
2) Although at first I thought the placement of the NMU was strange, over time it grew on me. It makes our jerseys distinctive in an important way from the NY Rangers/Wisconsin/Colorado College/Avalanche/Michigan you-name-it diagonal pattern. And there's a lot of history with that look. I think it should be on the home jerseys too.

Also beware that in the past, jerseys through the bookstore were a disappointing crude imitation. The only way to get an authentic jersey was through the charity raffle at the games. I will be surprised if the bookstore changes its ways, considering they are part of NMU, and thus allergic to basic reason.

yes this post has been entirely about fashion. deal with it.

As far as I know, the bookstore still has the SP brand replica jerseys, which are about two styles behind.

I tried to organize the purchase of authentics at the same time as the team purchase years ago, but there was virtually zero interest. Likely the $200 cost for an authentic kept buyers away.

I would love to see more authentics get into the hands of fans, but the cost is a bit steep for the MQT area.

Hmmm, maybe I need to discuss this with MTU fan JohnsonsJerseys about how to start a Meigray type site for the UP schools. ;)

Anyone have an update on Seckel? I know he was suspended for the first series but he's not playing again tonight?

Re: NMU Wildcats 2014-2015

Interesting new ticket policy for students. All student tickets are now GA. Thoughts?

Re: NMU Wildcats 2014-2015

It was kinda that way already when I was a student. A lot of section 16 (towards the back) was unofficially standing room /general admission back then.

It will be interesting to see if this helps or hurts the student attendance. Ten years ago, you had to get your tickets early in the week or miss the games; now it doesn't seem like the students care as much (could be said for athletics across the board).

Re: NMU Wildcats 2014-2015

I don't mind going to GA, especially if Student Tickets aren't selling out or even close to it...

abc10up.com/local-college-hockey-teams-need-your-support/ Good read from Jerry Taylor of ABC 10.

Re: NMU Wildcats 2014-2015

I dont get the Oystrick reference. I was his roommate at one time... he hit the books just as hard as the rest of the guys.

Re: NMU Wildcats 2014-2015

And now the 'Cats have a weekend off (and conviently it's opening weekend for deer season). Plenty of things to work on in the off week, but a great start to the season so far.

The two week trip in Alaska over Thanksgiving should make for a good team bonding experience. Hopefully the weather is good so the team can enjoy their time up there.
