That's a big pickup for the Pios. He probably won't replicate those numbers but think 15-20 goals wouldn't be out of the question...especially with Utica's cake OOC schedule.
Interesting situation because you don't see many star players on one D3 team transferring to another D3. Usually it is the guys who are not receiving a lot of playing time transferring out. But I do remember a player from Salem transferring to Oswego when Salem droped out of the ECAC E. The only D3 player I can remember coming into Norwich recently was a player from the college in North Adams, MA when that school ended its hockey program.
Others might remember but I can not recall teams like Middlebury, Plattsburgh, or Norwich picking up many D3 players from other teams over the years.

Ahh, Utica is known to be poachers, they stole Cody Adams from Plattsburgh![]()

You guys can have him back...He's like Hagrid from Harry Potter. He's huge and looks intimidating but doesn't do much in the way of production and is scared to hit half the time.
He wasn't poached, he no longer fit into Clarkson's plans and the St.Lawrence/Lake Ontario railroad was still open. I just checked and there now appears to be an extension to the Rochester area.PotterWasn't he a crampy goalie poached by Oswego?

Some of the guys who drop down to D3 dont do nearly as well as they and others expected ..its all a crap shootI agree. You'd think they'd rather be an impact player at the D3 level than in a suit at the D1 level. But, these are still just young guys and I think most dream of playing at the highest level. I also think that is a factor in my belief that the average age of a D3 player is actually older than that of a D1 player. I think there are more players at the D3 level who have exhausted all of their Junior eligibility in hope of landing on a D1 roster, while at the D1 level there are a number of kids every year making the jump directly from the USNTDP, Minnesota high school hockey, or US prep schools. The true blue-chippers are able to play at the D1 level at 18 or 19.
Many D3 teams have got 8-10 guys in the stands in suits every night too. You could ask them the same question in their decision to pursue playing at the D3 level rather than going somewhere to play Club hockey and perhaps seeing lots more game time.
