Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Holy ****ing ****. Is Chris Hayes really this stupid?

These aren't flash grenades. These aren't fireworks. These aren't fires. My god have they never seen tear gas before?

Flashbangs were deployed at first. Then the tear gas.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Protester holding a Do Not Enter sign. That's a federal offense, IIRC. Messing with a roadsign.

Things thrown at cops. "Just water bottles." Who the F knows what those bottles hold? These townsfolk have no smarts. None. NONE.

Yeah, I love the "it's just water."
So the cops are supposed to make a split second ID of what's in the bottle and decide it's completely inocuous?
The more I see of this, the more I don't get what these people are doing.
They keep provoking the police like they think the rsponse is somehow going to change if they keep doing it...definition of insanity.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

I was a block from tear gas once and my nose and eyes would not shut off for 20 minutes or more. Can't imagine being right in it.

Again for non geezers: during the riots at the '68 Democratic convention in Chicago, hippies threw golf balls with nails driven through them at cops. And store shelves in the area of the Conrad Hilton Hotel were stripped bare of Easy Off Oven Cleaner. That stuff was great for exercising your First Amendment rights in a cop's face.

Can we stop calling LDAR a weapon of war? Implying that it's primarily used in war and not in crowd control.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Here's the blatant sensationalism by CNN. We just so happen to find a reporter puking and in fetal position from tear gas. BAD COPS.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

How late into the night can protesters protest?

Honest question.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

As in how late does the law allow?

Or how long can they physically hold up?

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Saw a "peaceful" protester carrying a Yield sign down the street.
Not watching, but this makes me laugh. Wish I had seen it. :D

Depends but from what Ze Google tells me it's mostly just a misdemeanor. More severe charges could be pursued if say a stop sign is stolen that leads to a car accident and death.

In reality, unless charges are filed, the extent of expenses will be the cost of having a couple union laborers drive out and put up a new sign.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

The law. At some point, do you become a noise nuisance? On a week night?

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

I think you're still subject to citation and arrest for late night disturbing the peace. Most towns have rules about this. Whether it's sundown or 9 pm or whatever.

The midnight restriction I think you're thinking of was the curfew. But that was lifted earlier today.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

If they are protesting, as late as they want. Per the rules, I think midnight.

Was the curfew reinstated?
When I was watching earlier I saw that there wasn't a curfew in place tonight.

I was thinking of the curfew, didn't know it was rescinded. Most places I've lived, the noise law has been 10pm.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Paraphrasing Rachel (who I actually like) - Don't want to say this glibly, but this is like reporting from a war zone.
