Re: Nice Planet XI: Stop the World, I Want to Get Off!

Man shoots, kills self taking selfie.

The Darwin Committee is awaiting news of reproduction to see if he is eligible for the award.

He's 43; odds are he blew it. But in any case, according to the official Darwin Award site, accidental shootings are not admissible:

3 August 2014, Chicago | NOT a Darwin Award winner: the accidental shooting death of a man who failed to prove that his gun had no bullets, when he pointed the gun at his head and pulled the trigger. Moderators have ruled this recent Illinois shooting death "too common" and lacking the creativity of a true Darwin Award. Sorry, Mr. Zyzanski

Split the difference: Shoot them where the sun doesn't shine.

Almost did that once. To this day, I still don't know why I didn't pull the trigger. I did seize his Camaro, though. Daddy was not amused.

$55 million for Erin Andrews. With that kind of money she'll have no problem getting dates. :p

Seriously what happened to the idea of adjusting to the place you moved to?

If we travel/move to their country/land, we must conform to their wishes and religious nonsense. If they travel/move to our country/lands, we must conform to their wishes and religious nonsense.

Seems fair, right?

Your Maryland State Legislature at work.

https://legiscan.com/MD/bill/HB1424/2016

So, are folks are traumatized by contact leagues? So traumatized that, at a government hearing, they demanded to know why the state hadn’t provided on-site therapy for those who felt “invalidated” by the contact league.

I can't claim the prior sentence. I borrowed it and put it in the correct context for this discussion. See the original here*.

*Nice planet.

Are they trying to kill the sport in Maryland? When it says that they need to offer a non-contact option, what if nobody signs up for it, will that require the full-contact team to fold?

Our understanding is that once they get hockey, they'll go after the other contact sports.

USA Hockey knows and is asking questions. The local hockey community is up in arms. However, the head shaking part of this is the sponsors are from Prince Georges County, where hockey is not exactly a sport on the radar.
