Can't wait for them to figure out a way to make arithmetic racist... http://nypost.com/2015/12/14/school...us-novel-because-students-felt-uncomfortable/
“We have all come to the conclusion that the community costs of reading this book in 11th grade outweigh the literary benefits,” principal Art Hall said in a letter to parents.

Hall said students were challenged by the use of the racial slur, and felt the school was not being inclusive enough.

Well, for ****'s sake, let's not challenge our children and prepare them for life after high school! Why would we do that when the rest of the world is out there to coddle them into their safe zones and keep the boogie men at bay?

I agree, but Huck Finn has been on the list of most often banned books for the better part of a century. This isn't exactly a unique situation.

"First God created idiots. This was for practice. He then created school boards." - Mark Twain.

If I ever have a child (which is admittedly a BIG if) and I find out his school has banned a book, my next birthday/Christmas present to him will be his very own copy of that book and the knowledge that I am ready and willing to discuss anything about it with him.

****ing kids these days. We don't teach kids things because it makes them feel uncomfortable?

THAT'S THE WHOLE FARKING POINT!

The use of the word "farking" offends me. Please use the proper curse allowed by this forum, which is "f*ing." :p

So when it's not a him but a her, and the book is Fifty Shades of Grey..., what do you do then? :p

I love that the forum was held in a church and attendees were all but physically intimidated into agreeing with the echo chamber's opinion.

Re: Nice Planet XI: Stop the World, I Want to Get Off!

I'm sure it wasn't the kids feeling uncomfortable about the book, it was the adults, whether that was parents, teachers etc... pushing that BS PC view onto kids.

Unless the youth of today is that big of pansies.

Banning books over content, such a new PC thing.
