The midwest never jumps on trends like the coasts, we play slow and steady. Also, decent benefits overall, financial and otherwise. We just stay the course, and it pays off in the end. :)

I think it has more to do with the fact that Minnesota bucks the Midwest trend. It has high taxes and provides a high standard of living. As opposed to the rest of the Midwest which is low tax, low standard.

California and New York are models to be replicated, not demonized. There’s a a reason they’re among the world’s largest economies.

Doesn't Minnesota have lower state and local taxes than WI, IA, and Il?

Removing evolution from textbooks sure is a forward-looking strategy. :rolleyes:

Like the South, the Midwest isn't always and everywhere a hidebound, bigoted, superstitious, backwards sh-thole but, to the extent it is, it can DIAF.

I think MN state tax ranks 6th. Local taxes vary wildly but if you average out the entire state they are pretty low. I'm betting Illinois is the only one in the Midwest with a higher combined rate. Maybe Missouri.

I volunteer at Out On The Lakeshore, an LGBT Community Center, and someone shot our windows with a BB gun. The Ottawa County Democrats, two doors down from us, also had their windows shot. The hair salon in between us suffered no damage.

Whenever people ask why women don’t wanna come forward? Maybe because men don’t seem to be getting punished for these things.
Meanwhile a women is serving 5 years in Tennessee for voter fraud.
