Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

Could've been addressed with him directly, without involving the boss. Surely he could've run off to the bathroom to rip one or three. Almost all of us feel it coming on, after all.
True, but heck, sometimes it can be a real pain in the *** to go step outside to go talk to a duck. You gotta keep it all together while holding it in... not always the most comfortable thing to do.

I didn't get a Harumph! outta that guy...!!!
Hurumph!!!

It didn't seem like this was an occasional event. Where a friendly little mention from a co-worker would be enough to embarrass him into, uh, silence. Besides, we don't know that they didn't speak to him. Rather than give him the benefit of the doubt, I infer he enjoys inflicting his bazooka on his co-workers, who probably ratted him out as a last resort.

Nearest bathroom at my work is a 300 foot walk (or sprint if I've been eating Mexican) down a main hallway where I am very visible.

Sometimes you have to play it as it lies.

Woman (I refuse to call her mother) leaves a 3-year old and 2-year old alone in a bedroom warmed by a hot plate. What do you think happened?

*sigh* *rage*

Hope she had a good time.

While I agree our first instinct is to go all Casey Anthony, we don't know if that's really the case. Maybe she had to go to work.

Still, incredibly stupid to leave a makeshift heater going, even if the intentions are fundamentally good. Punishment should be appropriate.

Always looking for the pony, eh? :) I'd bet my Christmas presents she wasn't at work or making a novena at Holy Name Cathedral. I assume if she has an excuse, we'll hear it in due course. Still, leaving two kids alone is always the wrong thing to do. Makeshift heater or no.

Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

Somebody else can grab a link for me, since I'm on my phone, but the DB who shot the firemen this am in Webster, NY before being killed has a special place in hello waiting for him. Sounds like he possibly set a house ablaze, called in the fire to 911, then sat waiting for them to arrive. Something like 4 dead and 2 injured.

None of these are at all funny, but now it is just getting silly. Thank your local media for giving these clowns 12 hours of fame they don't deserve. Is POTUS going to add protective bubbles as a handout? Because I want one.

Four shot, two dead.

Agreed on the media aspect.

Second time in a year that Webster is in the news

Webster, a middle-class, lakeside suburb, now is the scene of violence linked to house fires for two Decembers in a row.

Last Dec. 7, authorities say, a 15-year-old boy doused his home with gasoline and set it ablaze, killing his father and two brothers, 16 and 12. His mother and 13-year-old sister escaped with injuries. He is being prosecuted as an adult.

There are those for whom the ability to screw over those weaker than them is the same as their desire to do it.

It's a dark and twisted side of humanity, our need to exert power like a tyrant. But, unfortunately, some people think it's actually a virtue.
Heck, I've gone after a few woodchucks in my time, but I don't see why you would want to run over turtles. They don't really hurt anything or tear stuff up. Plus, I would think there would be a chance that you could cut a tire on their broken shell. Just seems to be a stupid dick move to me to run over a turtle.
