Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

Black ESPN commentators threaten to read RGIII out of the race becase: 1. He has a white girl friend. 2. He may be a Republican. Stand back for the tsunami of criticism of this racism from the left. No? "I'm shocked. . .shocked."

That's Rob Parker. This is the moron from the Detroit News who had the huevos to ask Lions coach Rod Marinelli (whose son-in-law was the defensive coordinator) if he wished his daughter had married a better defensive coordinator in the middle of a press conference. (This was the year they went 0-16.)

Hammer oughta get a kick out of this one.

Stephen A. Smith was uncomfortable. That should tell you all you need to know.

Rob Parker's wife must have left him for a better sportswriter.

Not sure what angle youre going for there, but for the sake of following up on it, I checked exactly one well traveled left-ish website before finding this:

Edit: Well, I don't even have to try very hard.

I don't think Joe Dumars can loan him money to get him out of this mess, like he did re: Rob's book deal.

Oh, come on, of course you know. To question someone's racial authenticity because of the race of their fiancee and their suspected political affiliation? We've seen this all too many times. Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice and Clarence Thomas, to name three, were denounced as inauthentically black because of their politics. Since most libstains agree with that proposition, I'm doubtful there will be much criticism here. Reverse racism is still racism, is it not? Can't be having the "next big thing" in the NFL straying too far off the plantation, can we?

Good for Gawker and Huffpo. But their criticism hardly constitutes the tsunami we'd see if some white dude expressed similar sentiments. Like the tsunami of libstain criticism we've seen after a union goon riot in Lansing a few days ago. Crickets. But if some Tea Party types had expressed themselves similarly, we'd never hear the end of it.

I don't know about trying "hard," but you are trying.

Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

Wait for it to hit the mainstream. The 'net is always way ahead of traditional media (including TV).

Personally, this is disgusting. How are we ever going to eliminate stereotypes and racism if we have morons like this asking if someone (in this case) is "black" enough? WTeFF?!

Trrrble.

Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

We won't. As long as there are racist parents, there will be racist children who grow up to be racist adults. The sample size has shrunk in recent decades, but the cycle's still vicious.

Okay, you got me. I figured there was some whining about the Republican bit, but I wanted to give you credit for maybe not playing the victim card and expecting some broad proclamation from on high that Parker is an idiot.

Parker's clearly being a twat and there's not a single person that disagrees. We get it. Nice Planet (c). Do we need the President to publicly denounce it or is there a different endgame that you have in mind?

I agree with Stephen A. Smith for a 2nd time in 6 months. This is getting out of hand. The Mayans were right.

I didn't mention the president, wasn't referring to him or even thinking about him. But since you did, it would be sufficient if he would denounce any instance of black racism, ever. His whiteracismometer is finely tuned. It can detect white racism in places as diverse as Cambridge and Sanford, Florida. His blackracismometer, it seems, has been recalled. Even Clinton had his Sister Souljah moment.

Try to imagine the response of NBC (which creatively edited audio tape to make George Zimmerman sound like David Duke) if some white reporter went on ESPN to suggest Peyton Manning might not be white "enough," because he had dated a black girl at Tennessee, might secretly be a Democrat and was seen eating chicken and waffles. And maybe called Manning a snowball (you know, the Hostess product with the marshmallow on the outside and devil's food on the inside). Why they probably wouldn't even mention it.

Seriously? They're going hog-wild about the term midget? I guess we need to change how hockey structures its young people's leagues...

That and historians would have difficulty describing those little tiny submarines the Japanese used in the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Some years ago, when that idiot Ted Turner ran CNN, you may recall he hilariously banned the word "foreign" from their broadcasts. Instead, they were to use the word "international." Problematic for all of those countries with "international" ministers, no?

<a href="http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/sentence-in-fetal-abduction-case-life-without-parole-uq813ov-183408921.html">Woman sentenced to life in prison without parole</a> for "fetal abduction".

And this:

At trial, Morales-Rodriguez's attorneys argued that she never had intent to kill either the mother or her fetus, and was at most guilty of reckless homicide.

So she was going to cut the baby out of her body, but didn't intend to kill her? Where did she go to medical school again?

And all those WCW wrestlers bashing their opponents over the head with international objects.
