Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

Steven Crowder finally getting the kind of response he wants? I see no downside to someone finally knocking him around a little.

A very strong late entry in the Voltaire Society's "Libstain hypocrite of the Year" contest.

Union thugs exercising their "First Amedment rights" in Lansing:

Similar in many respects to three years ago when SEIU goons beat and threw a handicapped black guy amed Ken Gladney to the ground. We didn't have to "look for the union label" on that 400 pound ape. She was wearing her colors proudly.

Given the races involved, think Obama will pay attention? Or is this just an Uncle Tom for being hired by the counter-protest group?

In both instances n-words were tossed at the victims of the goonery--the hot dog guy in Lansing and Gladney. Somehow I think this racism will not be detected by White House radar. Which is odd, given its unerring "accuracy" in Cambridge and Sanford.

More video of union thugs tearing down the Americans for Prosperity tent outside the Michigan state capitol. BTW, AFP had permission for the tent to be there. I guess we should be grateful nobody was killed. And that union goons didn't drag the bodies through the streets behind motorcycles.

I would have been more impressed if the unions got someone to do this voice:

Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

It's truly a sad state of affairs when exercising one's First Amendment rights gets twisted into denying everyone else that same right. And even if this group of righties was somehow inciting or provoking the crowd verbally, that doesn't excuse a response of physical violence by the union nuts. Be the better man (or woman).

It's amazing some nut hasn't snapped and tried to get physical with the Phelps clan yet (or sling some lead in their direction), in spite of the police presence they typically attract. Makes me wonder where the police were in this situation; was the entire force needed just to block the entrance and contain the streets? Seems like someone should've thought ahead of time to post at least a few of them within fat, middle-aged throwing distance of the counter-protest area.

Well, one thing we know for certain, goonery and thuggishness is condemned in the upper reaches of the union "movement." Take James Riddle Hoffa, Jr, president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (and a fraternity brother) for instance. He declared a "civil war," in response to the new laws in Michigan. So union goons (particularly the ones picking the pockets of the public by taking unauthorized days off) will undoubtedly get that message, eh? Only 7% of Detroit 8th graders can read at or above grade level. I wonder how many Detroit teachers were in Lansing. It would seem they have more pressing matters to attend to back home.

Threats, intimidation, destruction of property and violence have all been part of labor's bag of tricks my entire life. I'm not optimistic it will change anytime soon.

I wonder how many of those protestors think that their union no longer exists as a result of this law?

Maybe he can entertain some members of the "waste management" union at daddy's favorite place. I pass it every morning on my way to work - it's now owned by a prolific local restaurateur, and they recently redid the exterior, but it still looks familiar:

Who, in the private sector, wouldn't want the deal big labor has in the pro-union states? Say we were in the frozen yogurt business. Every citizen would be required by law to buy our chocolate/vanilla twist cones. Alternatively, money would be withheld from their pay checks to reimburse us for our "expenses," whether they actually came in to the store or not.

I expect some folks are attracted by the cachet, just like some must be to Sparks' steakhouse.

"I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you." This ranks right up there on Uncle Sam's boneheadometer. My all time favorite, however, is when LBJ's "war on poverty" gave the Blackstone Rangers (the meanest, toughest, most ruthless Chicago street gang ever) nearly a million taxpayer dollars. For sure, the thugs running the gang were no longer poverty stricken.
