Self-absorbed, hateful, spiteful arseholes sometimes recover from terrible illnesses, while other wonderful human beings succumb to them. Makes even me wonder sometimes...

See, I want to believe that there's a Divine Plan and everything happens for a reason. I remember when Travis Roy suffered the injury that meant he'd be in a wheelchair the rest of his life, I told his mother that it happened for a reason. Maybe to increase awareness, raise money for those with disabilities like his, or just to be an inspiration to people. But I don't believe that. I have a tough time believing a just and loving God would allow as much suffering as there is on earth. Where was He during the Holocaust? Hitler was part of His Plan? 9/11 and the Invasion of the Cradle of Civilization was part of the Plan? People can try to explain it all away, but there are no explanations that will satisfy me.

West Michigan man refuses to service gay people at his body shop.

Also says he'll give a discount to gun owners, except cops because their guns are paid for by him through his taxes. Of course, so are the roads people use to drive to his shop, so why is he giving a discount to anyone? And he uses Christianity as his way to justify it all, but I'm willing to bet he'll give service to divorcees, those are aren't virgins but also aren't married, those who work on Sundays, and those who enjoy a good shrimp cocktail.

The Facebook post is almost TOO stereotypical to be true. He probably saw what happened to that pizzeria in Indiana and is angling for a payday on GoFundMe.

ETA: Get your popcorn ready. A bisexual man just tried to egg the place and was stopped by a regular customer with a German Shepherd and a CCW.

That picture almost looks staged, there's so many stereotypes. Older grizzly man with a beard, cigarette and Mountain Dew in one hand, reaching for his gun in the other while holding his German Shepard's leash with his wrist.

Also, are we sure the bi-sexual man doesn't post here?

So...a week ago gays were welcome at his business, but he just now decided it was too much? I wonder what it was that pushed him over the edge.

The major problem any of these bigots have is exactly how do they know someone is gay unless they tell him (or start making out in front of him)? Like I said with the whole Indiana thing, if a friend and I are traveling to Indianapolis and book a room together to save money, does the hotel owner just assume we're gay? If we go to this bigot's body shop does he refuse to service the vehicle because he assumes we're gay?

Every time I see one of these "religious freedom" bills it always make me think of WWJD: Who Would Jesus Discriminate (Against)

I will say I do not live in Michigan nor have I been anywhere near it in the last 10 years.

As for the other stuff, I'm not bisexual but if the price is right... :p

TPP is one of those things I admit I don't have the expertise to determine whether it's A Good Thing or A Bad Thing. In such cases I typically have to fall back on the scientific methodological technique known as "birds of a feather." In this case, it's Obama and the Republicans saying Good vs the Democrats saying Bad. This suggests Bad; but I also have respect for Ron Wyden, and he says Good.

So... no idea.

Here's a bone for all those people who say nobody ever runs a story about white people being beaten up by black people. It's the Post, memorably described as "like somebody trying to remember the details of a story he read in a newspaper," but the basic facts seem pretty unassailable.

BTW, as a proud graduate of the NY public school system, I can assure you that this stuff happened about once a year. Here's a very carefully guarded secret: in the NY metro area, black people and white people... they do not like each other.
