Descriptions of suspects only matters when the victim is black and said suspects are white. Or whatever the media wants to generalize as "white" that day.

As a heart attack.

Show me one example where the mainstream media made a point to mention the suspects race when reporting on a violent crime/incident where the perpetrators were black, and the victim was white.

Reverse the races and roles, and I can show you countless examples.

But please, continue to bury your head in the sand and label me a racist because that's the fashionable thing to do. It couldn't be further from the truth, as I'm pointing out a sad truth about the media, not race.

Given the video and the picture in the link from earlier today, I still can't tell who's being serious and who's not. Aside from not providing the one assailant's name, I've been kidding about the lack of descriptions.

Well, during Hurricane Katrina the white dudes "found stuff" and the black people were "looting".

Who knew that the secret to success in this country was to be a black lesbian atheist. Just look at how history has rewarded them! Poor Christian conservative males have been oppressed in this country for so long. One day their suffering may end.

The positive sign is that they've gone from defending supremacy as "natural" to claiming the Scary Other is now seeking/achieving a supremacy of their own. It's probably the equivalent of the Kübler-Ross model:

1. Denial there is racism. "They're not actual humans, so they don't have rights." (1860)
2. Anger their privilege is challenged. "String him up." (1910)
3. Bargaining to keep their privilege. "OK, white women, we'll give you rights if you help fight the Real Threat." (1960)
4. Depression that their position is slipping away. "Our country is going to hell. All morals are gone." (2010)
5. Acceptance that equality is better. "Wow. Our white ancestors were real jackwagons." "Then again, everybody's crossbred now so what's race anyway?" "Speaking of... let's fck again." [slurpy nom nom sounds] (2060)

No, if that's how you see things, then that's how you see things. I was thinking more along the lines of the U of M's Campus Police refusing to give suspect descriptions at all anymore. When a crime alert is released, it just states the type of crime reported and the location, never a description of the suspect, making the alerts that much less useful to the area residents. I really didn't expect you to come back with that.
