Isn't that exactly what they're trying to do? Get new legislation enacted that would reverse/alter prior legislation? There's nothing sacred about existing laws - the legislature can change them (within constitutional limits and subject to executive endorsement) whenever they want....until the Senate joins the House in wanting to undo the law (and gets the President to sign off on it...

Sad story all around. 15 year old kid goes streaking at a football game. Administration threatens him with expulsion and being put on the sex offender registry. Kid goes home and kills himself.
Repubs shutdown the government. They need to own it.
An agreement on what, exactly? De-funding or otherwise crippling the Affordable Health Care Act? Has it not occurred to some of you folk that the Affordable Health Care Act is law, voted on by the legislature, signed by the executive and upheld by the judiciary? The government is not honor-bound to alter it just because the majority of one house wants it gone.
Unless the Supreme Court undoes it's decision on the matter or until the Senate joins the House in wanting to undo the law (and gets the President to sign off on it), it's law and it's not changing. So to refuse to pass any other legislation unless everyone else agrees to change course is just ridiculous.
They can't.
They're unable to be objective on any level.
If right wing media doesn't spoon feed it to them, they won't admit it.
Any right wing media that tries gets labeled a rhino.
I have these people in my personal life and every time I feel like this (fill in the blank) will be the thing that opens their eyes and at least makes them slightly objective, it never does. I've realized that it's because they don't actually hear about it due to where they're getting their information from.
Even if they do hear it in passing, they assume that it must be lies by the mainstream media - coz they've been conditioned that everything from the mainstream media is a lie.
To be honest, right wing media has done a great job of securing their demographic. Years and years of pounding them has paid off with viewers/listeners who just won't question... well, anything.
It's a product of living within the echo chamber. They're lost.

Of course, the particular tactics the TP Repubs are using are deplorable and the end in no way justifies their means, but that is exactly the "end" they're going for.

He said. . .modestly. Must be tough to have to share the word with people who fall so short of your lofty standards.
Agree. What I find most irritating is the moronic spin from the WH (repeated here, verbatim endlessly) that somehow this business is unique and without precedent. It's politics. And politics ain't beanbag.
It's the left wing's echo chamber. One of the voices echoing in there is that they are not in an echo chamber and everyone else is.
No, no, no you've got it all wrong. It's not a left wing echo chamber. It's a community of like minded, open minded, wonderful, caring, informed, intelligent people.
Has it not occurred to you that the Second Amendment and prohibition of marijuana are also law, voted on by the legislature, signed by the executive and upheld by the judiciary? The government is not honor-bound to alter those either just because specific states want them gone.
Unless the Supreme Court undoes it's [sic] decision on the matter or until the Senate joins the House in wanting to undo the law (and gets the President to sign off on it), it's law and it's not changing. So to refuse to acknowledge these through state legislation is just ridiculous.

Who all gets to be part of this chamber? Goldwater himself would be left wing compared to the 30 or so Pioist teatards currently holding Boehner's jewels.

Reagan and Bush I and II are so far left compared to the Pioist teatards you could call them libtards and not be offbase.
Wonder where Pat Moynihan or Scoop Jackson would fall?Who all gets to be part of this chamber? Goldwater himself would be left wing compared to the 30 or so Pioist teatards currently holding Boehner's jewels.
