Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

JJsr announcing he's determined to recapture the title as America's most divisive "civil rights" leader. In Florida. Comparing the governor to George Wallace. And the state to Selma. Maybe he can regale those fools with the story of how MLK "died in his arms." It was a lie then and it's still a lie. Who is it, exactly, who looks to this liar and thief for "leadership?"

Probably the mirror opposite of the person who looks to Pat Robertson for leadership and spiritual guidance.

Pssst...hey, USCHO...

George Zimmerman.

*runs*

..you know what? I think this is his PR strategy. Flood the news with mundane article after article about him until people get sick of hearing about him and he can return to a normal life without being bothered.

Future headlines: George Zimmerman orders Jamoca Almond Fudge cone.
George Zimmerman gets starch in his shirts
George Zimmerman joins Operation Push

The media need to keep flogging this story and the related "stand your ground outrages" stories. They invested heavily in the "white guy guns down innocent black kid" narrative, and they want to recoup their losses. Collectively, they were exposed as having something approaching zero journalistic ethics.

My mistake. I thought you had a point to make. It's about time I learned that your principal motivation is to impress the world with your wit and wisdom.

Says the pot.

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

I'm too numb to be outraged by much of anything anymore.

I just enjoy the selective outrage that many exhibit. 11 people died and then Haliburton lied.

That's more people than the Benghazi thingy, yet... silence from the usual suspects.

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

Chicago judge orders Teamster goons to stop harassing and intimidating mourners at funeral homes (they picketed Dennis Farina's funeral this week). Bull horns, threats, dogs, the whole nine yards of labor goonery on display and the families are paying the price.

Interestingly, Fox Snooze has been the only major outlet to pick up the story in the past four hours. I'm guessing the left side of the media won't touch it with a 10-foot pole.

Is it too much to ask for one news source that reports only the facts, without opinion and sensationalist bullsh*t? I suppose that wouldn't sell.

Haliburton got caught, they went through the legal process, they're getting punished. Argue if you'd like about the severity of the punishment, and if it is fitting or not, but it is what it is. I believe there have been several hearings and studies and everything else that is needed regarding the oil spill, I think we pretty much know what happened. Do you really think that this is a case of selected outrage? What should I be outraged about? 11 people died, we know why, what else is there?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Deepwater Horizon case is in the courts and working through it. Haliburton got caught concealing evidence related to it (in a peripheral way) and is being punished for it. What should I be outraged about? On Benghazi by all appearances our government officials have telling us BS stories and concealing and obfiscating on the facts involved. Every appearance of a full blown government cover up. That's why I'm outraged on that issue.

You need to read up on the punishment Halliburton received. It's nothing.

I have yet to see anyone explain to me how much money they're willing to spend to protect people in dangerous places. It's already a black hole of cash that could be used here for a lot of good.

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

If they really are stomping their feet and getting pouty that their proposed raise was "only" 4.5% per year, at a time when unemployment in Chicago is about 10%, that seems pretty silly from the outset. Do they even have to undergo a performance review to get a raise, or would it be automatic for every member as part of the union contract?
