I think this could be very exciting for consumers. Go to Best Buy, Wal-Mart or anywhere else to return something and they won't give you a refund? Shoot the clerk and say it was theft.

According to the definition of the law, wouldn't it have to be after dark? ;)

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

I actually find it rather amusing in this instance. The notoriously anti-gay black community calling the gays bigots; two groups that are otherwise typically in agreement with a majority of the Democratic platform. Just goes to show you how divided the country has become on hot-button issues.

Allegations of "racism" are still trump. Just a tip: schadenfreude can be addictive.

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

The "Bagmen" in the Marathon Bombing are suing the NY Port for libel. They have a pretty good case. This guy? Notsomuch.
I'm guessing that you're just setting up the joke, but do you really think the bagmen have a case? I rather doubt it - if the FBI really did want to talk to them, the Post obtained that information via legitimate means, and the Post published that information, where's the libel?

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

I'm generally not interested in these "culture war" dustups. But this Army "lifer" is having his career damaged because he's evidently a Christian and a conservative. He's been threatened with Article 15 (non judicial punishment) gotten a bad efficiency report and had a letter of reprimand placed in his record. All of which pretty much kill any chance he had at additional promotions. The military takes these matters very seriously. His crime(s)? Reading books by conservatives, having anti-Obama bumper stickers on his car and having Chick-fil-a cater a promotion party. The rationale for concern over his reading material is based on "unit cohesion," that his choice of books to read somehow upsets his fellow soldiers. Try to imagine a GI being ordered not to read the Koran, as a random example. The Army should be ashamed of itself. The Sergeant's performance reviews should be cleaned up, any reference to Article 15 investigations should be expunged and the letter of reprimand removed from his file.

Yes...the Post is implying they just want to talk to them. Not anything else... That explains why people who recognized them reacted with such understanding.

Except for the fact that in that scenario Best Buy and Wal-Mart haven't stolen anything from you to begin with.

In the Texas case, it's a pretty ridiculous misinterpretation of the law by the jury.
