Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

With civil unions now being allowed, we will see more homosexual relationships forming, hence the higher possibility of rape.

What exactly does two men or two women committing to a relationship have to do with an increase in rape? The gays were already having relationships before civil unions were authorized, and rapes have likely already happened and are likely to continue happening at approximately the same rate, save for the usual standard deviation per year.

Aren't ticket quotas illegal in many states?

Of course, there's that tricky matter of enforcement. Who guards the guards?

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

No, but also in the searching of a relationship.

Seriously?

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

Education before the fact is fine. One rapist was sent a letter, completed his education and graduated from USC. Never got tried or even arrested. I think once the rapist has actually committed the crime it is a little too late to "educate" them.

ETA: but tell me more about this newfound interest in providing education to criminals. I've been under the impression that most conservatives thought the only thing a convict needed was a cell and three substandard meals per day. I would be highly interested to hear about this education plan for criminals.

Since you're throwing the term "rapist" around, please define it for us. In the case you just mentioned was the young guy charged? Tried? Convicted? If not, why not? And if he faced no criminal sanctions, by what standard do you just decide that he's a felon? The word of his alleged "victim?" The Anita Hill Theorem: in he said/she said situations, she is always to be believed. The problem here is that these so-called date "rape" cases are frequently (usually?) ambiguous. The parties know each other. Prior intimate relationship. No force. No drugs. "Victim" voluntarily came to the "rapist's" pad, maybe even climbed into the rack with him, etc. Your ponderous, self congratulatory sanctimony, as is customary, leaves out what seems to me to be relevant facts.

Far left feminists and their equally far left supporters, want to erase the difference between rape and seduction. And evidently have no problem whatsoever sending a college guy to prison for having sex with his girlfriend. Sex which she later regrets for some reason or another. Sex where mutual consumption of alcohol figured in the outcome. Or a misunderstanding. I'm trying to remember the name of the college that about a decade ago came up with a form to be used when intimacy is probable. The female would authorize what was allowed, then both parties would sign it.

It should be obvious that in the case you mentioned, either there's a gigantic conspiracy to reward instead of punish a rapist. Or there was no rape. I'm inclined to the latter view.

I agree with you until this point. The rest of your opinion is case-specific.

I think Chappelle's Show came up with that form. It was during the Rick James episode.

What point are you attempting to make? That cops occasionally make mistakes, or worse? You've got a firm grasp on the obvious. Next time you need a cop, why not call the ACLU instead?

Read the stories and note how often the policemen are held accountable for their misuse of the power strapped to their hips.

And I don't care much for the ACLU, but how like you to just fit people into a profile. If people used that level of stereotyping on you every time you referred to a black person as a "thug", we'd all be assuming that you had joined the klan. Instead we just assume you have an axe to grind for the state of urban violence in Chicago.

Let's see, you pleasure yourself over my "profiling" and "stereotyping," yet with no apparent sense of irony make sweeping generalization about how often cops "misuse" power and how often they "are held accountable" based on three cases. Some cops do bad things. And they should be held accountable. What would you suggest in the alternative?

As to my posts about gun violence in Chicago, and who commits the overwhelming majority of those crimes and who are overwhelmingly victimized by those crimes, I'll leave it up to you to figure it out, since the half dozen or so explanations I've given have eluded your grasp. You got a better word than "thug" to describe young black males who gun down other young black males (and babies and grandmothers) for the h*ll of it? I'd be happy to use it.
